Whenever you feel ready and have enough money as well as spare airplanes.

You need four gates at the airport you want to base out of, plus a pretty good bit of money. I remember it was like $9 million to $16 million (or something around there) depending on the cost of the gates.

Last round I would order some starter planes for a new base, then when they arrived I would start up the new base. No sense having a base with no airplanes to fly out of it.

I'm between 70k to 130k per plane. DC-3s are the longest range plane I currently have. I have a longer range plane on order though. I'm having a difficult start. I wish I picked a smaller airport to base out of initially.

I was thinking today we should scrap hubs altogether, and increase the number of bases. Just give the "hub effect" on all routes instead based on O&D.

Or you could add the "hub effect" only to bases that you built terminals at?

And do we really need more bases? Think about what it was like the end of last round. I think more bases would just make this worse until there are multiple worlds to split up the player pop.

Hubs are not implemented yet. All airports you can fly from at the moment are focus cities only, which you could have 6 max, including your base. (not counting alliance bases that is).

When hubs are put in, what exactly will they be?

From the game wiki page

The limit is 6 bases. When hubs come online these will be limited to 4, so in total the maximum number of airports that an airline can fly from will be 10(not limit to Alliance Routes).

What is the difference between them and what exactly are hubs?

Depends a lot on how short the routes are.

If you have a lot of short routes around you, then I can see it being possible. One airline I just saw had 7 on one plane.

Well... what I really don't understand is how some airlines have already 11 leased aircrafts... I can't get a extra one...

They've got to be cheating.

Someone in another thread said he had two planes one leased for $1000 and one for $500. Who in their right mind would lease their only plane for that much money though? You won't ever get enough money to buy another plane.

I think any non-broker airline that owns more than one airline is suspicious as well as any airline that has a leased plane.

You 'can' lease the DC-3 from older accounts that you not use anymore.

So if any day for any reason you got bankrupted and registered again to have another chance with another company, in this round, as you can not manage more than one account, you choose one and use the others to lease their initial aircrafts to you.

A suggestion... some accounts must be closed if there is no login or any change in a determined period of time.

That would be cheating to creat accounts and give away super cheap leases.

I mean, it would be kind of obvious too, especially if it's a new airline with only one plane that suddenly leases a plane for $1000 or even $5000. It makes no sense as they won't be making enough money from that to even purchase a new plane for a long time. A route that isn't even full will bring in more money than that in a day. The cheapest plane right now is 1.1 million. That means it would take 220 real time days at $5000 a month to get enough money to purchase another plane.

Even so, two accounts on the same IP that are leasing planes to each other should be a sign of cheating.

I have two DC-3s leased for €1,000 and €500 respectively.

I wish I could find some leases that cheap...

Sometimes you can simply stop that circle if you don't edit your routes above 70 percents. That's of course costing you money, but not as much as an 1-Euro route.

This is true.

Plus you have to spend a good bit of money every RL day to edit all your routes up to 100%

On some of the more popular routes 1$ will kick your load down to 0% though.

Was just wondering if this is like it should be.

Assume I put my fares at $195 and someone is at $200.

If they come back and put theirs down to $195, they will take all (or the majority) of the customer's even though are fares are the same. I've noticed it on multiple routes with different combinations of planes.

Hopefully the continual work keeps up. I haven't been here long and have seen some cool changes and look forward to the ones being planned.

Should be interesting to see the game in another year.
