Bugs / Grand Rapids(GRR) gate bug
« on: May 19, 2007, 02:20:09 pm »
I had the same bug the others had, but with GRR.

Leased a gate, didn't charge me, doesn't have slots available.  Shows zero gates rented, zero slots available.  But show GRR in my gate listing.

Airline ID: 196

Bugs / [FIXED] After the move I have a wierd problem....
« on: May 19, 2007, 02:16:32 pm »
I had the same problem.
I wanted to get rid of the A/C involved anyway, I closed the routes it was still operating.

It went to 36 hours available.  But it let me sell it.  I think Air Elbows swallowed it up.

Yes....  the unique variety of models, airports and (eventually) modes makes this game superior to other online airline games.

Game Data / cargo data question

The FAA publishes its data by US pounds, but I wanted an 'official' ruling before I posted the data.

Game Data / cargo data question

I am going to be posting some cargo numbers and I have a question.

When you say ton, do you mean US ton which is 2000 lbs. or Metric tonne which is 2205 lbs?

you must have missed the half of Swedish airports that are in Sweeden.

I live in an area with a LOT of Sweds, but I'm Irish and the SO is German.  So I expect the Irish management of the game to correctly capitalize an Irish name.....

Looked up Laker Airways.

They operated a DC-10-10 in a single class  345 seat config.  McDonnell Douglas offered 380 seats in the 10-10 though(Uugh, that would have been an ugly ride.)

BTW, whoever programmed the MD-11 into the database...  Its McDonnell Douglas, not Mcdonnell Douglas.  I'm suprised the born and bred limey's here let that slip.  You needed one of damn Yankee Irish to point that little misstep out......

Call me indirectly.

I work for a construction supply company, and we provide a lot of products for airport construction.  I travel a good deal for work, and I spend WAY, WAY too much time on airliners, and in airports......

You can customize cabins in Airline 6.  It's an expensive game though....

And not available in the US....(Can import if from AUS, but you get to add import tariffs on top of the $76 fee.

Aer Lingus have 176 seats in their A320's :)

I wanted to have seat customisation but I couldn't get anyone dedicated enough to do 3 seatmaps per plane, aswell as the issues of calculating the available seat pitch, toilets etc. Depends on what complexity goes into it. I'm sure I can add in these features of people wanted that kind of functionality but I would feel it should affect in some ways (Quite small) the loadfactors but the guy I generally get advice off doesn't agree with me on that front.

Any views?

I completely forgot one.......

Laker Airways and their SkyTrain.  Yep, before most of your times.  But they did Trans-Atlantic with the DC-10 in a high density single class configuration.

(Note to self: Don't fly Aer Lingus)

Anyone remember a PC game called Air Bucks(In the US).  You could customize your A/C for First, Econ or Cargo.  It was in blocks of 10% of the airplane.  But you could also set seperate class ticket prices.

Yes, config would have to affect load factors.  Some routes simply wouldn't have the higher priced traffic needed to fill extra First capacity.  How to program that?  I have no clue, I'm a manager by profession and not a programmer.

same with A330's, you CAN get them in Full economy, but no airline i know of does that, simply because who wants to fly that cattle truck, no one would fly it again (except really cheap people)

Talk about single aisle A/C, and you've got EasyJet, SouthWest, and TED. They all fly the 'cattle trucks'.  Skybus is about to start.  Its not tough to believe that someone will eventually try it with widebodys and some longhaul routes.

A/C #  913

It was returned to me from a lease and I can't do anything with it. It only has 3 hours available.

Game Data / Airport database inaccuracies

Rochester Intl. (ROC) is in the wrong location.

Its shows as a 6478 mi flight from there to Kansas City(MCI).  While making that drive seems like its that far, its really about 800 nautical miles.

General Chat / Codeshares unrealistic?

To backup your point Aer Lingus have left One World but have gone into codeshare agreement with JetBlue in the past few weeks. They are not directly related but here they are!

But would the codeshare with JB if they still were in One World?????

US Airways has been ending the old America West codeshare agreements in favor of their Star Alliance agreements.
