General Chat / An Irish Ghost Story

Thought everyone might enjoy this... 
This story happened a while ago in Dublin, and even though it sounds Like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, its true.
John Bradford, a Dublin University student, was on the side of the road Hitch hiking on a very dark night and in the midst of a storm. The night was rolling on and no car went by. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him. Suddenly, he saw a car slowly coming towards him and stopped. John, desperate for shelter and without thinking about it, got into the car and closed the door, only to realize there was nobody behind the wheel and the engine wasn’t on!!
The car started moving slowly. John looked at the road ahead and saw a curve approaching. Scared, he started to pray, begging for his life.
Then, just before the car hit the curve, a hand appeared through the window and turned the wheel. John, paralyzed with terror, watched as the hand repeatedly came through the window, but never touched or harmed him.
Shortly thereafter John saw the lights of a pub appear down the road, so, gathering strength, he jumped out of the car and ran to it. Wet and out of breath, he rushed inside and started telling everybody about the horrible experience he had just had. A silence enveloped the pub when everybody realized he was crying and….wasn’t drunk.
Suddenly, the door opened, and two other people walked in from the stormy night. They, like John, were also soaked and out of breath.
Looking around, and seeing John Bradford sobbing at the bar, one said to the other. “Look Paddy…..there’s that f ..king idiot that got in the car while we were pushing it!!!!”

Steven, I know you need the ads to pay for server space, etc., but the new ad that pops up on Safari EVERY SINGLE TIME I refresh the page, telling me that I'm a Winner! is getting really really old really really fast. <<<grumph>>>

Does each terminal built count towards the airline's overall value? And if it does, do the maintenance costs increase with time like they do with a plane?

General Chat / Half Routes vs. Unused Time Left On Planes

Better to fill plane time by running half routes or have some time left on planes and run full routes? i.e., difference on one route was 71k for a half route, 88k for a full route. Opinions?

Bugs / Closed Terminal/Continuing Gate Fees

I had a hub in Tampa (World 3) that I closed and I opened another hub. I had built a terminal and had a total of 16 gates that I had built as well. It looks like the AM staff tried to get rid of that terminal and additional gates that I had built, but they re-appeared about an hour later. Any way to get rid of all of these gates and terminal extensions so I don't have to continue paying for the gate fees? Thanks in advance.

I built a terminal and added several gates, then decided to close the hub. Is there a way to dismantle the terminal or am I stuck paying gate fees for the 16 gates that I built?

Bugs / World 3, TPA/ATL, LF %

This seems to be happening to a lot of my routes, but especially on this one today. There will be no fare changes by anyone on this route and my LF will go from 100% to 86.4%. When I click on it, then hit 'update' without changing my fare or anything, it goes back to 100% lf. This will happen several times during the hour. I have also had the same thing happening frequently on TPA/MEX. Any reason this might be happening?

If anyone is up for a little bit of free entertainment over the waning days of this round, tune into the upcoming activity in Texas. Houston Bush is preparing for an onslaught from an airline that has taken down all of her flights in all of her other hubs. The local concession stands are well-stocked to accommodate all of the on-lookers, although all refreshments will be non-alcoholic. Anyone have remedies for hand and finger cramps?

Just curious if there are any other golfers playing AM? I live in the Northern part of the US, so not much golf this time of the year (the high here today was -6*). If you're a golfer, tell everyone a little bit about your game, how much you play, what kind of clubs you have, and if you 'got game.'
