But I agree it is abosolutely stupid and impossible in real life to run 1000 0.5 frequencies on the EWR-LGA route.

It's actually 1000 full frequencies...

Ah, I should have clarified, most of these gate holdings are in the 10+ area.

Edit: He's up to 1000 frequencies on EWR-LGA: I think the PANJNY would be pretty mad at the delays created should a storm ever come up.

You should not look at all those airports as one airline because those gates are in fact "used" by different airlines.

True enough, correlation!=causation. However, the one variable here is that all the airports that I listed are mysteriously out of gates now.

Its the exact same type of nonsense that infects another online airline game.

Want a suspect?  Look for someone who is growing at the affected airports while everyone else idles or dwindles.

Thing is, the airports that our lovely Southern Belle is involved in massive amounts of gate don't really conform to any growing airline- I had a quick look, and some of the airports are really quite confusing. BOM, AEP, CPH, LAX now (oh dear), HPN? No one is really growing out of any of those airports- or at least no one based out of EWR.

I have no problem with people using gates as they please, it just confuses me to no end where they get the money. I lease some planes to this airline (mostly Dash-8s) and I often see in the Daily Profit column they are losing 5,000 plus. It doesn't really make sense that an airline can spend 50,000,000 on gates  and not earn anything- oh well. -scratches head-

Edit: my head hurts. Does this actually make money?

What confuses me the most is- he's a tiny little airline- where does he get the money for this endeavor?

Similar situation has happened in DFW, where a certain airline is flying hundreds of requecies to Dallas Love Field (which in my opinion, the passengers should drive).

I completely agree, the passengers should drive... And about the other thing, 168 gates at 300,000 a month is a little over 50,000,000. We can but hope.

Someone, out of nowhere, just rented the remaining 168 gates at EWR- their utilization is 78%... I see routes of EWR-LGA at 4x91 frequencies. IS there anything that can be done because that seems a wee bit absurd to me.

Thank you for your help, as always AEB, I greatly enjoy my 77Ws :)

Well, when I first noticed this little hiccup was I was trying to open a route from EWR-Omaha Nebraska and I noticed that I could use a 77W on it. I then noticed that, indeed, I could use ALL my planes on it, save for the ones leased out.

Seems problem resolved...but still have early delivery

Reporting the exact same thing, though somehow- the early delivery doesn't bother me too too much

This has only happened to about 3/5s of my airframes, the premature aging thing. The good news, for the moment I operate a 21 hour flight, YUL-KUL

Also, the planes I had on order are now listed as "in service".
