I think you're referring to actuators which are responsible for pushing the flaps/elevators up & down.  I don't like their looks either ... unfortunately, the bigger your aircraft gets, the more force is required to push the bigger flight controls.

Yep CRJ's look like little fat things. SO we have ERJ's in 1996? The ERJ-145 I'm guessing?

Yup. ERJ-145LR and ER. I've already committed to ordering 30 of them for the next 3 years. Plus 10 A321-100 (or A320, still deciding). Thankfully I'm in Europe now so I don't need longrange planes.

So zkvac-what airline are you? Me and my alliancemates are starting up an alliance sometime soon. Would you be interested in joining?

Australasia in W12:

I've got 11x Embraer EMB-120ER's and can get me a damn good distance over Australia, but

Bombardier CRJ-200LR's have fantastic range (Full east>west coast) and low fuel usage. Good price, too. (my 9th and 10th are on their way now... :)) EDIT: 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th as well! ;D

W12 - Phair I climbed about 100 places to number 23 (using only secondary airports)by having over 50 CRJ 100s (mostly LR, but that was overkill, most of my flights around 1000 miles) - afterward a319 (again 75% SR, 25% LR) to keep cost low over rivals. and now  a321s, but basically I think the best value for money aircrat are the bombardier CRJ series or the Embraer!s that pop up later on. I will get CRJ 200LRs only to replace my current fleet due to age if I have time  If you use  secondary aiports the A321 is the largest you can go. My 777300ERs are a lazy choice, but 550 seats from 15mil-5mil airports are overkill. Also the Tu144D is a good way to have regional aircraft up to 4000 miles, not cost effective but mostly competition free as only long range a319 have the range, an I an fly to 3x more destinations. Basically when you a/c count goes beyond a hundred you will escape to the larger, but lower price/yield aircraft due to price competition and lack of time to create scores of new routes.

atr 72-200s   (0-1600nm)
they can make about 80% of the profits per route of an airbus a319 at about a quarter the cost

then other aircraft i recommend
bombardier global express for intercontinental flights (4000-6900nm)

boeing 717 business empire for flights (1500-3500nm)

in W129 its the Beech King Air.Cheaper than the 1900,J31,and the EMB110,while having great range and 10-15 seats.Ive got a Super King Air B200 and it makes lots of euros flying from London to Moscom,Tunis, and Algiers. They're just superb.
