Okay guys, I'm totally stuck on what to name the planes in my operational fleet, so I'm going to defer to the public here.

It gets pretty hard to name them all once you get more than say 30-40 planes :D

I like that idea. Thanks. Maybe I'll go with cities around the world for concorde (starting with L'esprit de Paris)

I'm naming mine C-FQXX (XX Being a sequential letter system AA, AB, AC... ) and adding a nickname if i feel for it.

It's not particularly difficult to name 40-50+ planes. Just select sane naming systems for each particular aircraft types.

For example, I'm naming my HS-748s after American rivers. I could have 1,000 HS-748s and still not run out of names.

Fokker Fellowships are Revolutionary War battles. Again, there's plenty of those (even if I have to start getting down to the skirmish level.)

DC-9/B732Advs might be American mountains. MD-80s, American mountain ranges. B722Advs, American lakes/bodies of water. B752s (once we get there), American heroes (Martin Luther King, Jr., Edward Abbey, etc.) B763s, American presidents, perhaps. There's no shortage of naming systems - you just have to get creative.

Thankfully my naming systems are fleetwide. Of course I may have to go by aircraft type later on, but for now I'm going fleetwide.

Actually, I'm going to do it this way, since I don't want to steal the idea I gave you. ;)

Regional: Greek/Roman Gods, Goddesses, and Heroes (no reason other than they have cool names)

Mainline: Countries around the world.

Special: Star Trek Ships

Interesting....I may do that for Concorde...starting with Independence Day (or I could name them after flags) or maybe after treaties.

The Spirit of Independence Day
The Spirit of Canada Day (july 1st)
The Spirit of Bastille Day (July 14th)
etc. etc.

The Spirit of the Star Spangled Banner
The Spirit of the Tricolore
etc. etc. etc. (this would involve me doing LOTS of research)

The Spirit of the Treaty of Paris
The Spirit of the Treaty of Versailles
The Spirit of the Munich Pact
etc. etc. etc.

I mean it takes too long to name all your planes. I have other things to worry about :lol:
