I think that many can afford 747 now. I chose not to buy one but have ordered IL-62's as I want my fleet to be all Russian this round. Il-62's are 166 million so I could easily have ordered a 747 a long time ago. There are 9 747's in the game, active or on order, 2 of those are by brokers. With a DOP of 10 million it only takes 1.5 real days to save up for a 747 :)

Not junk, just not good under the circumstances we have in the game. I won't go bigger than IL-62 personally.

Too much turn time earning the same as IL-62. Plus you have to edit them everyday if you want full load.

I might just end up ordering the IL-62 as my biggest aircraft this round. While the 747-200 is great for flying to large cities from large cities, it just is way too big to make a reasonable profit with considering what I airports I choose as a base airport. But I am cool with that, as I really have no plans to buy them unless I grow into a really large airline with some big time bases.
