Ooh this will be fun.

Since humble beginnings in 1959, China Airlines has killed a total of 811 passengers and crew, earning it a high fatal rate of 7.16. Air India, has 4.89 and Pakistan International has 4.55. On the good side, Air NZ: 0.74, Cathay: 1.45, Thai: 1.60, Qantas: 0

Air Asia

Does the airline crash alot? No crashes at all, one incident
How often is it late? Their never happy if the flight isnt late
Hows the ground service? poor, good for a LCC
Do they loose many bags? N/A as the computer looses count
How is the relationship between the workers and the company (strikes coming to my mind)? Not sure...

Onboard:
Is the crew friendly: Wish they were
Do they treat you like crap when you ride on cattle class: same answer as gizgiz.
Do they have free meals/free drinks/free booze? Fortunately no, bcoz their food is disgusting
What's the baggage allowance? 15 kg (sux donkey balls)
How are the seats: Invisible
Do they have AVOD: No, no PTV. But its a LCC
How often do people strand because the flights are overbooked? dunno.. i wasnt

Others:
Price: Very Cheap, but cheap price=cheap qualities

Very bad airline. But its a LCC...

Oasis Hong Kong airlines

Does the airline crash alot? No crashes at all.
How often is it late? Quite bad in 2007 but heard it's improved.  My flight was dead on time.
Hows the ground service? Good, matches legacy standards.
Do they loose many bags? Haven't heard of any incidents.
How is the relationship between the workers and the company (strikes coming to my mind)? Pilots, FAs and ground staff seemed to be in high spirits.

Onboard:
Is the crew friendly: Very friendly.
Do they treat you like crap when you ride on cattle class: No, and there is frequent water service.
Do they have free meals/free drinks/free booze? Yes.  You get the same amount of food as Finnair.  Booze - don't know.  Cup noodles will cost you - but it also costs you on Finnair.
What's the baggage allowance? 23 kg, very generous.
How are the seats: Old frame but new cushions and covers make it comfortable.
Do they have AVOD: PTV showing 1 year old movies, and this is a LCC!
How often do people strand because the flights are overbooked?  Never heard.

Others:
Price: Very Cheap 6 months in advance, extortionate if short notice.

Overall very good airline.  "Full service" Finnair just got killed by a LCC!

A great airline must be one of the main rivals of Cathay Pacific and Dragonair.

I reckon they can't "top" China airlines in the crash aspect. For now at least they have some old SQ birds which still should be in a pretty good shape.

NorthWest?? Are you kiddin? I even paid more to go to LAX just not to endure NorthWest. I felt that every penny spent on CX was worth it.

The pain of people competing for which airline is the best has made me crazy. Let's get back on-topic:

A smooth flight that brings you to your destination on-time, without hassle, and with you leaving the airport happy.

A posh plane may help, but it is the friendly and efficient service that really matters the most.

I would say the ideal would be the CO HKG ground staff + CX / SQ cabin crew + JAL meals + EK / QR(int'l fleet) planes. Now... that would be something to look forward to
