I have just returned a 757 that was loosing me money, and the flights that it was on are still taking up gates. I want to get rid of a gate at JFK, and to have 2 slots back at LHR. My airline is British World Airlines , ID 215

I think there is something about closing routes before returning a leased aircraft. Otherwise slots are not returned...

But as far as I remember, there is a hint somewhere on the returning aircraft-pages...

Sorry to hijack this thread, but if I return gates, shouldn't my gate costs in Financing go down? I'm paying 8.8 million for gate costs, but I have no more than 12 airports with gates or so.
