AM is becoming more like the real world.   Airports and routes are becoming so crowded and fares are being set so low several of my routes have been reduced to well below costs.  And frequencies so high are making a profit let alone sustaining growth is becoming impossible.   As with real world CEO's/CFO's I spend most of my time lowering prices to regain market share instead of developing new routings or even replacing and renewing my aircraft assignments.

A few carriers operating far below costs have "taken the fun away" .    But that mirrors the real world of of airline operations.

I am looking forward to beginning the new round and placing the lessons I've learned into practice.  While on even footing.

For those operators who run realistic airlines with routes with realistic pricing.    Thanks for the competition, I enjoy and respect you.

Those who are not serious and don't play in a realistic fashion  ...shame on you.

Oh wow... then why does the front page say that..

"Airline Mogul is an online airline simulation, classed as a Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG). It is made by a team of people with an interest to make an online game which will be among the best of its type. Players create airlines, afterwards they buy gates and planes, create routes, join alliances, and compete with each other in a highly competitive world based game, that runs 24 hours a day. Airline Mogul has a combination of some of the best features from other airline management games, aswell as its own distinct features using a bright and clean look to deliver the best experience possible."

Edit for Dktc: Not making another post: but still... simulation is on the first sentence

We can gradually introduce more realistic features. Now that I think of it, I'd say we should add in taxi time...

That would make a smaller airline go bankrupt with all the plane leasing and gate rentals... wouldnt it?

Dktc.. read my first post  :D

Of course it is that's what makes it good.   I am NOT complaining about the game itself.  I am complaining about market forces.

The "complaint" is no more or no less than an observation that mirrors that of real world airline operations.   It is the same in the real world except that here there are no stock holders to answer to.   Unrealistic operations in the game or real world have caused the industry to adapt ( as I am attempting here ) or wither and die.     My point is simply that here as in the real world those who operate in a financially irresponsible manner take the fun out of things.

Shame on those here and real world who operate unrealistically.

As for the accusation of complaining.   I did no finger pointing nor did I ask for any action, sanctions nor changes.   Just noting an interesting part of the game.

oh ya.. by the way.. what happened to the stock market we were told about at the beginning of this round? I mean.. with almost all the larger airports at maximum capacity, people should have a way to divert their risk, or somehow buy out other companies(For example, when your airline gets bought, then you are allowed to start a new airline with the cash)
