No, I think it's an ATR-72; and if he wants the specific aircraft type, I would say an ATR-72-500

Inside every MD-80 is a DC-9 ;) (MD-90 and ARJ-21 too ;))

The wingtips are most certainly MD-80. Or DC-9 Super-80 if you will.

To be honest I don't know what plane it is for sure, but I'm also thinking it is a MD-80. :P

There are no DC-9s or MD-80s in Australia or New Zealand. Only 717s. And that isn't a 717.
