How far out is Hotswapping aircraft?

I have an airline in PW 1909, which is a full length, 91 year world.  Currently I am about to purchase my 1,000 aircraft and it is only 1923, so I have more or less gone all out to create one heck of an airline.  Here is my problem:  better planes are 10-15 years out, at which point I plane to have 2,000-2,500 aircraft operating, and swapping them out one by one would pretty much take another 20 years, at which point all just have to swap them out again, etc.  Hotswapping would save me a lot of time, so I wouldn't have to individually recreate all the routes.  I see this is listed as the number one priority, but that post is two years old.  Just wondering if there has been any progress made.

Nothing's moving as of yet, we will update progress as and when its made. I'm finally finishing college after 6 years so I'll be changing around a few bits to reflect that.
