Maybe comparing the shape of the A380 to the shape of a blimp

I think so. A bit of a resemblance, maybe?

Sorry for the confusion. To me, the A380 is rather a blimp of an aircraft. :P

It's more a ship than a craft, I would say. So many people fit into one

Hee hee... It is so funny to see you two ridiculing one of my favorite aircraft with complete gusto :D.

Although I am not saying that you two are wrong. Quite some descriptions!

Why do you like it that much?

Well, it's big, and it's Airbus :P. And I somewhat like the look of it's fuselage, though I cannot say that for it's fat wings :D

The A380 has glamour, though it looks rather like a fat baby with wings. :D

Glamour is not really what describes our modern jumbo jet here. More like lumbering usefulness (If it is useful).

I think with time and more usage it will look better to the eye, you know, you would get used to it

Well, actually I already did. I think its nose looks - well, at least it's not ugly. And I like the rudder.

In general it looks not bad, but there is just something I can't put my finger on, something that's a bit off

Yep. It looks all right, but not perfect at all. But strangely enough, I still like it for all its peculiarities :D

Which looks better, B787 or A350?

I would say the 787 perhaps. The whole thing is designed around a certain gracefulness never before seen in modern airliners (which really look strictly businesslike and built-for-the-purpose-of-making-money :D). Boeing has quite succeeded in making the whole aircraft conform to the same standard of soft, gentle gracefulness.

The A350? Well, the first time I saw a picture of it, I thought, what's this?! Now I have gotten used to it :P, but really the cockpit windows are designed in a never-before-seen out-of-the-world novel way. It looks quite cool, actually, when you get used to it. The whole plane looks pleasantly slender, and the glossy effect is quite well capitalized on, giving it a very modern feel. However, I still feel that its winglets look too flowy but feel too stiff, making it peculiar. You would expect it to flow like the 787, but it just doesn't. Otherwise I love it!

However, I still don't understand the useful purpose of Boeing's new flexible-wing trend...
