Just a question. Why did my aircraft maintainance costs go up from 300,000,000 to 1,200,000,000?

Increased age (which will increase costs slowly over time) and aircraft purchases are likely candidates. Especially purchases of large and/or old second-hand aircraft can give big jumps. The maintenance formula is kinda funny though - it can jump around quite a bit even with smaller transactions.

It can be an advantage too. My maintenance went from just under 500mln to around 200mln a couple days ago. Why? I guess it's because I scrapped 15 5 year old A319's (total fleet of 220 mixed A319 & ERJ190 aircraft). I didn't do anything else... So I guess relatively small changes can have major consequences.
