Profit of Certain Aircraft

This has happened a few times-
  I'm trying to replace my 1.5 year old Boeing 737-100, an Aircraft with 100 seats.
On a certain route, this makes me 79,600 Euros a day.

  Once I put in my Dassault Mercure, an Aircraft with 150 seats, I get just over 79,000 Euros.
Shouldn't an aircraft with 50 more seats at least get equal profit?

The lower fares may offset the more seats. I think you have to make sure that the place you are flying too can handle more traffic or something.

On more populated routes, there's a huge difference between the 737 and the Mercure.

But the 'huge difference' comes to a halt when you meet your foe - maint. cost.....
