Unless Im mistaken, wasent concorde out and flying before Airbus was together? I thought the whole point of Airbus was that Europe didnt loose the brains that made concorde?
Now that we have the origonal 'bus, where is concorde?

Also... feel free to correct me  :)

Made before the Airbus it may have been, but comercial service didn't start until 1976.

At http://www.airlinemogul.com/airlinemogul/view_all_aircraft.php you may find its scheduled appearance in... 1976.

Anyway, you may not have Concorde, but you have Concordsky.

I thought that was concordski?

It was called both Charger (NATO name) and Konkordski (Western observer name according to Wiki). I'm trying to look up to what the russian name is (for example, the IL-18 had the nickname of "Москва" and AN-10 had Ukraine.) I personally would love to have just one this round just for the hell of it, but it's price and super short range (since this is the prototype, not a production version) and that wonderful 120 day waiting period from initial order till delivery just dosn't do it for me. Which is another reason I wish it was a 10 year round (longer ranged production versions would be made, as a more interesting point, I ran into a site which had planes for a bettered Koncordski, the Tu-244, which plans sound a lot like the B2707's (250-300 pax, 8000km range) , though it retained Tu-144's characteristics on the exterior).
