How much is it to start a base? Dubai is sold out of gates so I'm wondering how much it'll cost to build a base somewhere else as I don't want to rent four gates to find I can't afford one.

€350000 airports->€17500000
€300000 airports->€15000000
€250000 airports->€12500000
€200000 airports->€10000000
Don't think of creating a base at airports smaller than €200000 airports.

Awesome thanks, yeah it's a 200,000 airport. Made sure it had a decent population and has 5 free gates.

Depending on location and competition, 150k and even 100k airports could be quite profitable. Now.. 50k ones, you better stay away :wink:

my hubs are all at 50k airports, i may not have the biggest airline, but its doing well, the larger airports seem to have the most competition flying out, but flying into them isn't as bad.

I agree, I have 3 of my 4 bases at 50K airports. They are very profitable, yes, they won't make 100K on every route, they're not supposed to, but since they are not in large interest to most players, and most players can't even locate these places on a map if their lives depended on it, the competition stays low.

I'd try avoiding making bases at larger airports (200K-300K) until you grow more powerful and can afford to fight hard in such markets. They are huge with many players and competition is very tense. I notice usually 4-20 seperate flights on routes that I fly to the largest airports in Europe (LHR, BRU, AMS, and CDG).
