It looks like a whale, has bad operating economy and it's just big. The 747 though, that is a beauty :)

The 747 is a beauty (it's not nick-named the 'Queen of the Skies' for nothing), and the A380 does look bloated, but actually it has better fuel economy than the 747. Some say that it was introduced twenty years too early.

How long is the range of the A380 actually? I seem to find that it has longer range than the 747-400 in the game. If so, why do people still complain about it not being able to go as far as they want it to go? And why do people claim that it is made for the mid-range large-capacity market when it could actually go further?

Did you know that Airbus had come up with a newer, more fuel-efficient version of the A380-800 called the A380plus?

The ranges used in AM are the absolute maximum ranges in operation. This means that with full payload you can't fill the aircraft with fuel and vice versa. This figure shows what I mean:
