Oriental Pacific Airways - Newsroom

HANGZHOU

Oriental Pacific Airways has launched its new flagship service, with the start of a daily rotation from the company's Hangzhou base to Beijing Capital International Airport.  The route is flown using the carrier's new Fokker F27-200 turboprop aircraft, which has also been used to open services to Hong Kong.  Oriental Pacific now offers the fastest connections from Beijing to the important regional centres of Taipei and Hong Kong through its Hangzhou hub.

The company will soon be launching additional regional services, once refitting is completed on two additional Nord 260 Super Broussard aircraft that the carrier has purchased from Hansa.  When these enter service, the carrier will have six operational aircraft flying to over 30 destinations.

HANGZHOU

Oriental Pacific Airways has opened two new hubs, at Shanghai's Hongqiao International Airport and Shenzhen's Baoan International Airport.  Both airports are served by a fleet of Fokker F27s and SE 210 Caravelles, with a feeder operation at Shanghai also being maintained using Nord Super Broussards.

The Shenzhen hub will be built up into a major operation, with the transfer of further F27s from the Hangzhou hub upon delivery of a pair of Vickers Viscount 810s for the major trunk routes from the carrier's home base.  Further F27s and Caravelles will be delivered in due course to continue regional expansion from all three hubs.

Oriental Pacific Airways - Newsroom

HANGZHOU

Oriental Pacific Airways has opened a new hub at Beijing Capital International Airport, where it is now the largest operator both in terms of the number of flights and total seats offered.  The company has based a fleet of Caravelles and Viscount 810s at the airport, and now operates daily flights to 115 destinations from China's capital.

The company is now the largest airline in Asia by number of passengers carried, with more customers flying with OP than the next top two carriers combined. In order to maintain its position, the carrier is continuing to build up its regional fleet to enable expansion to continue from all of its 5 hubs, and has also ordered three long-range Convair 990 aircraft to operate services to the Middle East and Europe from Beijing.

The company has launched a frequent flyer programme called Optima, which offers customers numerous benefits, including award flights, access to airport lounges, and deals with a number of other partner companies.  Customers of airlines which elect to join Oriental Pacific's new Spirit Alliance will also be able to earn Optima points, as will those who use the OP Mastercard credit card.
