Urbandale, IA 2010-  Des Moines- based Regional Airway (NYSE RGA) has announced two daily flights to Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport.  The low-cost regional carrier already flies to Omaha and Chicago/Midway from Des Moines. The airline says that it will continue to add routes regionally to give Iowans access to larger regional-hubs for better, cheaper connections.

Regional Airways has been based at DSM since its debut. The airline currently is the carrier of choice for all cities it serves from DSM, carrying the majority of passengers from Des Moines to those destinations.

Urbandale, IA 2010-  Des Moines- based Regional Airway (NYSE RGA) has announced a daily flight to Minneapolis/St. Paul from Des Moines International Airport. Adding this destination shows the commitment of Regional Airways to offer Iowans access to a discount carrier to allows them to connect at larger regional airports for an overall cheaper cost. The additional flight to Minneapolis (MSP) along with service to Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA), Chicago/Midway(MDW), and Milwaukee (MKE) makes Regional Airways the largest non-stop provider from Des Moines.

With the additional flights added, the airline is looking into leasing additional gates at the Des Moines airport. CFO Daniel Smith says that the airlines overall plan is to eventually offer non-stop service to Los Angeles (LAX), Orlando International (MCO), and New York (JFK).

The airline says that it will continue to add routes regionally to give Iowans access to larger regional-hubs for better, cheaper connections. With the addition of St. Louis, Regional Airways also flies to Omaha, Milwaukee, Chicago/Midway, and Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Regional Expands Service from Des Moines, adding Aircraft and Gate

(AP) Urbandale, IA- Regional Airways (NYSE RGA) has announced it will take delivery of a smaller, more cost-effective aircraft for the short routes from its Des Moines hub. Company officials say this will free-up a larger aircraft for additional routes. "We're looking into Memphis and Denver right now, but aren't able to fly there due to the schedule and routes we currently fly" said one Executive. The company has already announced that flights to St. Louis, Milwaukee, Omaha, and Minneapolis may have increased flights daily, but will be served by the smaller aircraft. "The idea behind this is to give more options for the Iowans we serve by allowing us to add more destinations and allow more choices for flight times." said the other executive. Regional Airways is also adding a second gate at Des Moines International in preparation from the additional cities. The company is also looking at moving its offices from suburban Des Moines (Urbandale) to a large facility south of the airport near the suburb of Norwalk.

Regional Airways is committed to giving Iowa access to large, regional airports to connect to their final destinations. Regional Airways out serves its competition by giving passengers more options at a cheaper ticket price.


Regional Airways will operate 2 aircraft from 2 gates at Des Moines International Airport, and will serve seven destination-connection-cities; Omaha/Eppley Airfield (OMA), Minneapolis/St Paul International (MSP), Chicago/Midway (MDW), General Mitchell International/Milwaukee (MKE), Lambert St. Louis Airport (STL), Denver International (DEN), and Memphis International (MEM).

Regional Airways Expands DSM Service, More of a "Hub"

Urbandale, IA (AP)- Regional Airways (NYSE RGA) has announced an additional 3 cities for service from it's Des Moines hub. Sioux Falls, Denver, and Memphis. Regional Airways is committed to serving the Midwest with another, cheaper option to connect to larger, Midwestern hubs.


Regional Airways flies 9 routes with 350 passengers daily to 8 destinations; Chicago/Midway, Omaha/Eppley Airfield, St Louis, Milwaukee, Denver, Sioux Falls SD, Memphis, and Minneapolis.

Popular Des Moines-Based Airline Changes Name with Relocation
Norwalk, IA (AP)- Des Moines-based Regional Airways (NYSE RGA) has changed its name after adding routes outside of the "regional area". The newly formed company is Regional-Midwestern (NYSE RMD). With the expansion outside the region, the airline has also purchased a larger, more suiting space south of Des Moines International Airport in the suburb of Norwalk.  

Executives say that as the airline grows the company will operate two seperate divisions of Regional-Midwestern, Regional Airways- Midwestern Connection and Midwestern, with service to larger, more popular cities.

Currently the airline flies under its Regional Airways brand from Des Moines to: Omaha/ Eppley Airfield, St Louis, Minneapolis, Chicago/Midway and Sioux Falls.
It flies under its Midwestern brand to: Denver, Memphis, Minneapolis, Chicago/Midways, and Milwaukee
