Connor,

I really like your idea of starting a World where the players stick to 'real-world' airline operating practices.  I have been involved in games with similar goals so am definately interested.

To achieve similar goals I have recently started a small forum where people can get together to form more organised worlds.  The forum is located here:

http://albionairlines.freeforums.org/index.php?sid=cceebcf2ab91e2b68907a1dac8da889b

Have a look and see what you think as I think we have similar goals:

1)  Try to make the most of the opportunities that the Private Worlds offer.
2)  Create specialised Worlds where the members can tailor the experience.
3)  Share ideas and thoughts on the game and aviation in general.

Please have a look and let me know your thoughts.

I'm glad you and I have a similar interest! If you'd like to join the world, please send me a PM with your name, airline name and expansion intentions and I can set you up. I'll also give you my MSN information so we can chat about your forums and our ideas!

37 spots left and an interesting game developing!  Pick your airline and create your base to reflect your real-world organisation.  Post on here to join.

I'm VERY interested in joining this World.
It does sound as if all the player's adhere to the rules and understand it is a REAL World operation.
I would very much like to join, HOWEVER, I usually play under my own name JAY-AIR which I am more than willing to forego. I would like to play, based in HND as JAL ( Japan Airlines ) Who incorporated JSA in the early 90s who DID operate MD-83s. And then absorbed them into their fleet.

Would this be acceptable  BUT, would like to ask, what exactly does your
  •   [3] mean?

Is this unlimited bases in your own continent? And then 3 focus foreign Cities?

Thanking you in advance

Jay

I'm sorry, Flybynight -- I don't allow foreign bases :( I do this because it only makes sense realistically: i.e. Air France isn't going to put a hub in Dallas/Ft. Worth. It's common courtesy for airlines to do this -- it's so no airline can overpower the others native to a single country.

You can always make focus cities though ;)

Connor, in most of the cases it's a law.

Alouette Aviation - Österreichische Wetterstrecken - Blå Løve Luftveje - Imperskiye Nebesa

I like this idea of a realistic world!  Maybe I'll join next time around when I ahve a bit more time. :D

As for foreign airlines sticking a hub on another continent, other than the fact that it is prohibited by law with few exceptions (Northwest and United both have a hub in Tokyo due to mid-1900s agreements), it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to do so.  The airline would be at a disadvantage being a foreign airline and everything... for example, when you think about flying from Tokyo to other points in Asia, you don't normally think of flying Northwest -- you'd be thinking of flying Japan Airlines or ANA just because they're the home carriers; they're the carriers operating mainly in that area.

That's great and what I was expecting, however you can create focus cities on your home continent which, if accepted into your game, for me would be Asia as JAL.

Will PM you.

Thanks for the information.

@Shawa- Thank you Shawa -- I didn't mention that it was a law in my post because I wasn't 100% sure, but now I am. Thanks!

@XeniaAirways- I understand what you mean, and I hear what you're saying, but I'm trying to keep things realistic. Like Flybynight747 said: focus cities work best and it's what the airlines can do, and do in the real-world. i.e. TWA in Paris-CDG, Air France in JFK, British Airways in JFK, Singapore Airlines in LHR, etc. It's more common that airlines do that than organize an agreement through the states of other governments. But thanks for initiating discussion! :D

@Flybynight747- Welcome to Commercial airlines through the mid-90's!

This is a great and so far wide open World with a lot of time to play for.
Only 1 carrier based in Asia, 1 in Africa, 1 in Europe and 3 in the USA.

It's a friendly game with a LOT of scope for growth, pretty unchallenged at the moment.
Come and join us.
