Hey,

I saw someone claiming that the Airbus A319 is not very profitable. Is this true and why? It is quite big and much cheaper than an A320.

These are my aircraft I use-

CRJ-701LR for regional- incredible speed (515!), and good range without scarificing capacity. A bit on the costly side though, about 5 or 6 times the cost of the cheapest ATR-72 (similar capacity)

A319LR for some international routes- You can't beat that. 110 seats, good range (5175) and quite speedy too. And very affordable at just $46m. Better than the A318 in terms of cost/profit. (And I like to have fleet commonality)

A330-200/A310-300- Don't discount the A310. It can be as good as or better than the newer A330 counterpart. nevertheless both have good range ans speed, and are cheaper than the Boeing equivalents

A340-500- My future a/c for my ultra long haul route  8)

The A319 is much more profitable than the A320 in terms of ROI.
