I'm in W350 and am finally digging myself out of the initial start up debt. Once I am able to lease or buy a plane that better suits my needs, I was thinking of parking the Potez 841 since it gets terrible fuel mileage, has high maintenance costs and doesn't carry that many people. My question is: If I do park this plane, are my maintenance costs on it going to go down to almost nothing? I'm thinking it would actually be more cost effective to simply not have this plane in the air until I can sell it. The problem is that currently there are to many of these on the used market. So I'd like to wait for a better time to try and sell it.

You still need to pay the maint, as long as you are the owner. Not flying it does not change that fact.

So the maint costs don't vary depending on how much the plane is used?

Not yet, but it will.

Okay, thanks. I'll just keep "The beast" in the air as much as possible until then.

Put it on the market for 60% or so of value and you'll get some cash out of it.  Its kind of amazing how people will buy old/crappy planes like that so easily....
