Since stephen seemingly neglected to make a post about it; a major patch has been applied to the create route page, it should now be able to handle competition properly.

It still will be pitched at the end of the age in favor of a new one currently being written.  with the new page should come potential for one-way routes (actual implementation that is, it can be done right now but it would screw up way too much at present.).  also will come a functional edit route page.

While you're at it, reading this thread that is, go take a look at the interface improvements made to the purchase/lease used aircraft page (go to used aircraft, and click buy or lease. FYI no need to actually buy or lease), the rent gates page, and the newest update. follow the info link on an aircraft of yours (one on routes preferably), and enjoy the upgrade.

How would implementing one-ways screw things up alot?

it's in how frequency and such would be calculated.

presently one slot used equals one round trip flight, one frequency.

now another fun thing, a latent bug in the code is that for a round trip a plane only has available to it one way's worth of seats (heh).  If we implemented one way flights, all the sudden all existing 1 frequency routes would be read as one way flights, an improper number of slots would be returned.  also aircraft would likely have an improper amount of hours returned (suddenly a 24 hour round trip flight is being read as a 12 hour one-way).  

there's too many routes in place, combined with latent issues in the code which if patched at present throw off all new routes (due to how the calculations are at present) and likely frustrate a bunch of players.

I see little but a giant hairball evolving from adding 1 ways at present.  In between ages, all routes are eliminated, all planes erased as well.  a clean slate, what better place to add them in?  no angry or confused players, no unnecessary time spent patching botched gate slots and airplane hours which could be better devoted to patching and improving the game in other ways.

The ramifications of implementing 1 ways at present seems to just wind up a little crazy and cause more problems then it's worth, for now.
