Well, we have AS adding like 5 new routes, all 2-3x daily, Horizon is adding several new flights, LH,HU, and VX have started flying to SEA, Nw added LHR, Southwest 2nd major carrier isnt going anywhere, neither is AS. UA will be decreasing, but that wont affect it as much.... oh and As is rumured to want to start Austin, PHL, IAD, and possibly, if things go through with UA, IAH. (well, CI is dropping theri flights, despite high loads, but BA is increasing 2x 747 in the summer and staying 1x 747 and 1x 777 through the winter)

So, SYD is not affected by the downturn of the world economy? and soon, probably signifigant route cuts too?

Reno might be the airport that might just not get any cuts. With all these cuts, RNO hasn't even gotten any flight cuts.

Notably Alaska increased their flights to 8x and 10x daily to destinations in California from SEA like LAX and SFO, which are surprisingly have been very full or so I have heard. This should also boost SEA's passenger stats for 08. It should be interesting to see how much SEA has grown.

Im gonig to be pushy and say by 1 million or 900,000, could even be more. Next year, we'll have V Australia (hopefully!), NW PEK service, Shanghai Airlines PVG service, more AS, Horizon, and VX, increase of flights with BR to Tapei??, Emirates?, and Indian Airline?, NH with a 787?,  :P

btw, your right, the flights are almost "completely booked" with AS through early fall, as my dad's good friend (an travel agent) puts it. It is hard finding a pair of seats on their flights. I wonder how VX and UA are doing (Im sure SW is doing fine)

Sydney airport website. 2007 Annual report.

http://www.sydneyairport.com.au/NR/rdonlyres/354DB67F-4B68-4DB2-86A3-64150B7B2F92/0/2007KeyHighlightsFinal.pdf

Page 6. Last paragraph on the left.

Should be reliable enough.

Quote
Traffic Growth and Aviation
Record passenger figures were achieved in 2007 with
31.9 million passengers passing through the airport.

Or if not, Key traffic data as outlined on the graph located on page 15.

EDIT! Above is PR spin by the airport. Actual pax for 2007 was - 31,864,808 as located on the annual report, last page.
