I used ATR72 in the 2000s round and only made less than €50000(3.5)

Kinda like running Narita-Haneda, or De Gaulle-Orly, JFK-LGA, DCA-IAD, ORD-MDW, etc.

i tried running a route like that once.  it works really well until you get competition (in my case, in the form of 17 frequency)
