My airport I fly out of is out of gates I don't have the money to build a terminal so am thinking maybe an alliance. If I join an alliance do I still need to have my flight starting out at my home airport or can I have some of my flights flying out of the other members in the alliance's hubs?

thats fine, as long as you are renting gates at the alliance bases. :)

So once with an alliance my flights don't need to start off at the city I first flew out of?

they don't have to, but its a good idea in my opinion.  There is a maximum number of flights (usu 20) that anyone can fly from another hub.  So you won't be able to fly from an alliance base for too long.

Check the alliance page. On the right side, there will be a list of alliance members' hubs. If there is a 20 next to it, that means all alliance flights have been accounted for (don't rent a gate there). If it's less than 20, you can rent a gate there and fly routes from there.
