Is there a way to figure out the distance from your base to the route arrival point?  It seems that you can only find that out, after you've rented the gate and tried to assign a plane to it.  Makes it costly to find out your longest range plane is 40nm short of being able to complete that flight.  Maybe a separate map with mi to it, or a grid on the bottom left corner like in googlemaps that provides a scale of how far a line is in mi/km?

Go to "view routes" then "basic research". You can select the departure and arrival airports and get the distance of them.

Another way is to do it on Great Circle Mapper

Your post is a suggestion

Don't forget that the airplane hours may sometimes be insufficient to create the route. This is mostly the case with very long range routes, or when the airplane already flies a number of routes.

My fault apparently. The post is a suggestion... which has been implemented before it has been suggested. ( @ MrOrange)
