I have a couple of questions in this area.

How often are public worlds created, and do they very greatly in style (start year, type of aircraft)?

In the creating of a private world, one option under routes is Improved and Old. What is the difference?

A new public world is created when the current world reaches 80% capacity or if there is less than one year left. The factors of world creation are completely random, we never know what the next world will be like.

Improved route maps is a zoomable map accessible by going to your admin panel and clicking on 'route maps'. The improved map does not show up on the view airline page, only on the route map page.

The reason we integrated the improved maps was to give an alternative to Google Maps that can handle entire route maps and alliance route maps. The Great Circle Maps (GCMaps) will cut off routes after the first 2,000 or so, this is due to a constraint in sending data to GCMaps to generate the map. Using improved maps is the only way alliances can see their combined networks through the alliance rankings page.
