Hi,

Say you want to open a base at Chicago Midway. Proceed as follows:

* Rent four gates at Midway. This is a prerequisite for creating a new focus city.
* Hover your cursor over "OPERATIONS" then click on "Create Base"
* Chose Chicago Midway from the drop-down list.

Creating a new hub costs money - the amount will be indicated in the drop-down list.

Hope that helps.

To be exact, creation of a new base costs 60x the price of a gate; plus four gates. The total price will be 64x the cost of one gate. Keep that in mind so you don't rent four gates, just to discover you don't have enough money for a base.

You will have to rent a gate in any airport you will fly into. But you don't need a base in order to fly alliance routes.

The owner of the aircraft pays the maintenance fees. That's why it usually is good to lease expensive planes.

The only benefit of joining an alliance is that you get to fly from other airlines bases. Some alliances offer a community, but the majority don't.

If you open your own hub, you can fly as many routes as you want.
