As a noob, I think I've made a mistake renting a gate I can't use due to range restrictions. Is it possible to un-rent a gate?
Also, regarding range, is there anywhere a table that shows distances between airports so I can check an airtport is in rabge before I rent a gate there?

you can return the gate on view gates. you won't get your money back though. You can go onto research route to find out the distance.

Gate search will also provide distance information.
