Or somewhere, but all I know is a route which from Chicago should only be about 250nm is showing up as 6800nm.

I don't know if this is a problem for everyone, but at least in world 1909, its not working.

Thanks!

Game Strategy / Question about flights between hubs.
« on: April 10, 2011, 10:06:53 pm »
I am going to open up a second hub in a few AM days and I am wondering if there is any advantage in sending a flight back to the first hub.

For Example.

XYZ airlines hubs out of New York and flies to L.A.

XYZ airlines then opens a hub at L.A.  Even though I already have a flight between NY and LA with its home base at New York, is their any advantage in running a second flight between LA and NY hubbed out of LA?

Game Strategy / New Hubs. Do they all cost the same?
« on: April 10, 2011, 05:42:04 pm »
I am looking to open a new hub in each of my games.  One is at Kansas City, on is at Washington Dulles, and one is at Billings.

I know the Kansas City hub costs about $12,000,000 to open, but is this a flat rate or is it based on passenger movements at each airport?  Will Washington and Billings also cost $12,000,000, or will Washington cost, say $20,000,000 and Billings cost, say, $2,000,000?

Thanks!

Probably in the same area where it says four gates are required.   That way no one spends $600,000 buying gates only to discover they are still $10,500,000 short.

Again.

General Chat / Concorde?
« on: April 05, 2011, 06:34:16 am »
Are these available in AM?  I looked under Concorde and Aerospatiale-BAC Concorde, but I didn't seem to see it.  I'd love to get a few.

Thanks!

General Chat / Santiago-Beijing Non Stop? (12,000nm)
« on: April 05, 2011, 06:28:56 am »
I have ambitious plans for my airlines and I would like to run a number of routes from South America to Asia.  The longest one I can think of that I would like is probably Santiago to Beijing, which clocks in at just under 12000nm.  I know they have flown aircraft over halfway around the world in this best decade, so I am wondering if at any point in the game if there is a plane that could make this trip.

Thanks!

AT THIS POINT THIS WORLD IS FULL.  I HAVE ALREADY BOOTED ONE PLAYER DUE TO INACTIVITY AND I AM SURE MORE WILL FOLLOW.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST, ADD A POST TO THE END OF THIS THREAD.  HAPPY FLYING.

I am open to suggestions as to the details, but this is what I have set in stone so far.

It will be a full world,  it will start in 1919, and it will last a full 91 years.  Hubs, both domestic and foreign, will be unlimited.

Other things, such as starting aircraft and gates and money and number of players are negotiable, but here is what I am thinking.

I want a small number of players, and I want ACTIVE PLAYERS!!!  The world I am in has about 375 players, and over 300 are inactive.  Boooo.

I am thinking about $500,000, on plane, and one gate for the starting amounts, primarily so we can have a real, start from scratch type of world.

As for number of players, probably about 10, thats it, but I am open to more.  Like I said, though, I want ACTIVE PLAYERS ONLY.

Would anyone be interested in this?

Game Strategy / 2 Farman F.60 Goliaths-Now what?
« on: April 01, 2011, 07:07:38 am »
I just joind the game, and I did it quite late.  The game started in 1919, and I joined in 1982.  The starting Aircraft are the ones I have now, 2 Farman F.60 Goliaths.  It took me a while to get a hang of how this works, and I made several mistakes at the beginning, such as scrapping both planes (I didn't realize that they could still be used at first), and dropping one of my two starting gates at my hub to save money.  I managed to buy another Farman F.60 Goliath for VERY cheap, and its a good thing to, because if I hadn't got it, I would have been out of the game.

At any rate, I have since built up a small hub at Columbus, and I am serving seven cities with my two aircraft, and I am turning a decent profit.  I would like to expand beyond the 240 nm range and start serving larger cities with larger, faster aircraft.

As of now, I have thought of a few options.

1: Purchase a DHC-6-100.  Initiate some longer, more profitable routes.

2: Same as the first, but with a DHC-6-200

3: Purchase a third (and final) Farman F.60 Goliath, and service a few smaller cities within reach of Columbus. (There are a ton of Farmans in my world going for about 500K)

Or do something else, if I can get some suggestions.

Here is my airline, and thanks for the help.

I am talking about the logos people put in their signatures.  How does everyone make those?  Photoshop, I am guessing?

Thanks

Game Strategy / How long is a day in the game?
« on: March 27, 2011, 06:24:16 am »
Just wondering, about how long does a day last in the game.  I just signed up, and I am assuming the game is run in a speed up time state.

Thanks!
