But most (As far as I have seen, it should be all) of the operators are operating them with SHORT HAULS!!!

I use ATRs from Ashgabat to Europe. My 3rd most profitable route is Ashgabat-Amsterdam, flown by an ATR-42. A whopping 11 hour flight...
A longer range aircraft has more value when selling it.

There are two variants of teh 737-500. You need the version with the longer range to fly that route.

 :?:

I can only find one (very confused)

Bugs / [Not a bug]Route research error?

So, i had a A320 delivered, and i rented a gate at LHR, AMS and FRA. The A320 could only do LHR and FRA, but not AMS. Luckily ive got an 737-500 delivered in 3 days, do i can, according to route research, fly the AMS route with a 737-500, before i lose the gate. But route research also says that the distance from Ashgabat - Amsterdam is 2723 nm, while the 737-500 has a range of 1955 nm?!?
Can i fly this route with the 737, or will i have to get a second hand ATR-42 to fly the route?

Edit: I should have posted this in the bugs forum, could admins move it?

Because the ATR-72-200 has 457 nm more range than the ATR-72-210? Is a good idea to have that little more range, if you want to do a longer flight.

General Chat / Some photos?
« on: May 22, 2008, 02:49:23 pm »
In case AM is interested in some photos of some aircraft, ive got:

Tupolev Tu-154
Boeing 757-200
MD-80 (unknown version)
Fokker 100
Airbus A330-300
Boeing 767-300
Douglas DC-3
CRJ-100LR
Airbus A319
Boeing 737-700

They arent the best of quality, but are about as good as the 737-300 photo that is already in the game.

Surely there is some difference, otherwise Boeing would not have bothered putting on different engine types.

Maintenence commonality with other engines in the fleet. If Emirates was looking to order 50 new long range aircraft, the aircraft with most commonality in the engines could be the preferred choice.

General Chat / Maintenance Cost

When buying a new aircraft, fuel burn should be an important factor. At the moment, maint` is.
The difference in fuel burn between a fleet of 737-200 and 737-500 is hardly noticeable...

The Alliance fees, do you pay them each month, or just when you join the alliance?

Bugs / [Fixed] Wrong location?
« on: May 11, 2008, 10:29:20 am »
According to the game, distance between Dar Es Salaam and Zanzibar is 906 nm! The correct distance should be closer to 39 nm.

Distance from Jomo Kenyatta International is 545 nm. Correct distance is 324 nm.

Distance from Jomo Kenyatta International is 415 nm. Correct distance is 359 nm.

I beleive either Dar Es Salaam or Zanzibar are located the wrong places. The coordinates for Zanzibar are 06°13'19"S 39°13'30"E. Coordinates for Dar Es Salaam is 06°52'41"S 39°12'09"E.

Oh, and i used the great circle mapper to find this information.

Hope you can use this information to correct these minor details

General Chat / An inactive airline still leaseing my aircraft

What if the opposite happens? You lease an aircraft from airline A, A then goes inactive, and 3 weeks later goes bust. What happens to the aircraft?
