Suggestions / Select more countries when creating a world
« on: August 31, 2012, 07:54:59 pm »
I like the fact that you can select individual countries upon creating a world. However, sometimes you want two or three countries in your world but not the whole continent. Therefor my suggestion is the radio buttons are to be replaced by checkboxes so you can select multiple countries.

Also the list of countries needs to be expanded in my opinion. Currently the choice is limited to some large countries, I would like to have more choices.

And another one with a typo in it, or two to be exactly. In the game they are called GAF N22 Normad and GAF N24 Normad. But that's wrong! It's Nomad, not Normad. The R should go in both aircraft.

I found an aircraft with a typo in it. In the game it is called "McKinnon G-21G Tubro-Goose" while in reality it is "McKinnon G-21G Turbo-Goose". You swapped the b and the r in turbo.

It is possible to make profit on long-haul, however you can make far more profit on short-haul.

Indeed Brandenburg isn't fully a new airport, it's going to be a new name for Schönefeld. So Schönefeld will not be closed, only renamed.

But indeed there is a difference between historic and current airports. Better example is perhaps Munich, where Riem airport was closed down several years ago as the new Strauss airport opened. Right now Riem doesn't even exist as an airport anymore, but if you're playing with historical data I can imagine you'd want to use Riem instead of Strauss.

or it is simply withdrawn from service and not allowed to fly.

And as far as I understand, that's the basic idea behind it.

I know Martinair has recently returned their 767's to Boeing because they had reached the maximum number of cycles allowed for the airframe. Boeing has to determine wether the planes are still safe enough to continue service for some time, or that they should be scrapped. Martinair has used these plane very intensively so their 767's are currently the ones with the most cycles.

On the other hand I know of some company from Iran that still flies a 707, the only one in the world still in passenger service. This plane has been in military service before and therefor has very few cycles, the military rarely used it. So it still has a lot of cycles ahead before it is to be withdrawn from service. Other 707's that have flown more have long been retired.

Bugs / Re: Lease return
« on: October 29, 2010, 06:16:45 pm »
Probably the airline leasing them used the "clear all routes" button. For some reason, when pushing that button, the aircraft airframe hours and cycles are being reset to 0. This has nothing to do with the aircraft being leased and returned, it also applies to self-owned aircraft. Also it's world-independant, I've had this issue in several worlds. That button "clear all routes" clears more than just the routes.

Funny thing about that button "close all routes" is that when you push it the aircraft flying hours are being reset to 0, so it's like the plane never flew. Probably a bug. I already reported it, but so far nothing has been done about it.

If it comes to hiding passworded worlds, I'm all for that. For most of them you dont have the password anyway, so why bother showing them. Furthermore, while browsing you sometimes come across a world that doesnt really match your prefered settings but still might be interesting.

[=] Suggestions / Re: Aircraft storage / mothballing unused aircraft
« on: October 23, 2010, 07:36:53 pm »
Good suggestion, I like it.

However, what to do with aircraft on sale? Can you sell a mothballed aircraft or do you need to put it back into the fleet before putting it on the market? Right now I got a number of aircraft grounded because they are on sale, but I havent sold them yet. If mothballing would be possible, would you have to choose between putting an aircraft on the market or mothballing it or could it be combined? Can you sell a mothballed aircraft?
