General Chat / Lacking substance?

It is now October - 10 days after the launch of the reset.

My airline is worth over $500M, and I have expanded to my full 6 focus cities and cannot expand further.

My airline runs itself.

I only have to log in once a day to ensure my routes are profitting, and to build planes to lease out.


All this after only 10 game months.


So, does this game lack substance? I'm trying to be subjective and constructive in doing this, but we need something more to aim for...
Research technologies, train pilots, something else.

At the beginning of the round, I logged in once an hour... now its once a day - by the time its 1954, it'll be once a fortnight, then I might forget and never return.



In the 10 days now since the reset, I've basically done everything there is to do - and its not even 1951 yet.


 

I like this game, and I will continue playing, but... what are your opinions.

Bugs / SQL Fetch error.

It seems the error has moved down a line. Still not generating a result.

I purchased a contract for brokerage on a Douglas DC-6B.

When I click on the View information page for the plane, the part that tells me when the plane will be delivered (x Days) generates the following error;

Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /var/www/vhosts/airlinemogul.com/httpdocs/airlinemogul/ac_info.php on line 314


I've only noticed this error on this plane order, never on any others.

Bugs / [FIXED] Aircraft in service early...

I ordered a couple of planes about ~13hrs ago (days) - and at the tick over to the 1st of March, the planes were deemed "finished".

They both show "In Service" and ready to make a profit, yet when I try to put them on a route, they dont exist.


Obviously they shouldnt be in service as there is still some hours to go - but thats the bug  :wink:

How does that differ to the real world?

If plane B offers $500 for a route and plane A offers $200 - are you suggesting that plane B should still retain its 100% loadfactor?
Its called competition.

Or have I misunderstood you..?

Bugs / !!! Problem ordering aircraft.

I tried ordering a Page HP-45 Hannibal, got to the screen to select my quantity, I selected 1.
Pressed submit.

The next page loaded with this error - Sorry, but the page seems to have lost your aircraft query, please try again!

I have tried 5-6 times with this aircraft to no avail.

Hey -

International Air here...

I'm hoping someone here may have a few minutes up their sleaves to design me a logo to comply in-game upload contraints and also at the same time to use as my forums signature here.

Certainly nothing top dollar, as I hope you can do it out of your own freewill.

My graciousness will be your reward.


Details - I'm based out of Germany, so the colour scheme could revolve around the Red, Amber, Black theme - and the name International Air suggests globetrotting.

Something modern, and clean.

I have 1 plane doing 7 routes around Europe.

I have only 1 0.5 route.

You only have 1 DC-3 that carries 28 person at a pretty slow speed.

Why fly all the way across the continent for only 28 people. It makes no logistical sense.

I've kept most of my routes within 100nm of my base and its paid off for me.




Play intelligently, and dont cause a fuss over something you havent researched.

Trust me I don't want those planes.  Even though we get them as scrap we still have to pay for them.  I have a negiative amount in my bank account.  I now have to make up 7 million just to get back to 0 dollars.

With the amount of planes you have, you should easily acheive an 800k+ DOP

We should play a small mini-round... of say 72 earth hours.... just so we can ensure all the modules have been tried and tested in the real working environment.

Better alternative than playing from 1950-2007 with bugs.

But, how can people already have multiple planes.. without the obvious cohersion or multiple account cheating.

People, for some odd reason, scrapped planes, and those planes to go the brokers automagically.

So why have they got gates and routes... are they brokers or players?

It seems you have to cheat to get ahead.

You fixed the bug about buying gates when in debt, thanks.

But, how can people already have multiple planes.. without the obvious cohersion or multiple account cheating.


Can we reset again so all bases and gates are returned and everyone is on a level playing field.

Its ridiculous already and theres 17hrs to go yet.
