22nd December 1995

Rotterdam Base Opens!

Today, UK CityHopper Airlines opened its second base, its first in mainland Europe. A leased Boeing 737-200 will be based there until at least October 1996, and we hope to replace the aircraft with one of our own. Nine routes will initially run from Rotterdam, including three brand new routes to Milan-Malpensa, Vienna & Amsterdam. We hope to extend the base at Rotterdam and hope to make it our main operations & maintenance base in mainland Europe.

UK Cityhopper commenced operations today with 3 aircraft based at London Gatwick serving around 15 routes. We are hoping to expand the airline in the near future.

Feb 2001

COVENTRY BASE OPENS

Today, we opened out 3rd UK base at Coventry Airport, basing a Boeing 737-700 and an ATR 72-200 for international and domestic flights. We will operate over 15 flights a day from coventry throughout the summer.

JAN 2001
AIRLINE HAS A REVAMP

After the failure of flights from theUK to iraq & Afghanistan, the airline has had a rebrand. FlyAway.com will now offer serviec from Manchester, London Gatwick and Coventry airports for the 2001 season using 1 Boeing 757-300 and 2 Boeing 737-300 aircraft with a delivery of antoher in the summer. But, this is not the only change. All domestic flights will be using a differnt franchise called FlyAwayRegional.com. This part of the airline will operate from the same 3 airports but using ATR 72-300 aircraft and under a different label. The regional section will only offer flight within the britsh isles and FlyAway.com will offer flights to the rest of europe.

From February 2001

- two boeing 737's  based at Coventry & Manchester
- one 757 based at London gatwick
- three ATR 72 based at LGW, CVT & MAN. (Regional)

Mid summer 2001

- one boeing 737 based at LHR
- oNE 747 Based at LHR/LGW

ALL BOMBARDIERS TO BE WITHDRAWN

After delivery of a 757, and 2 orders on a 737, a decision has been taken to withdraw all Bombardiers after this year. These will be replaced with boeings and atrs

November 1999
JETAWAY HAS A RE-BRAND TO CITIEXPRESS

Today, JetAway was re-branded to CitiExpress, as executives thourght the airline offered more city based flights thank holidays. In the future, we hope to offer holiday flights using Airbus or boeing aircraft, and when holiday flighst are set up, the airline will be split into two. Jet Away Citi flyer division, using regional Bombardier jets to city location & JetAway (Normal division) To holiday destinations using Airbuys/ Boeing aircraft. The name change will remain until them.

November 1999

DETAILS UNVEILED FOR YEAR 2000 MASTERPLAN

Jetaway.co.uk today reveilded the plans for 2000, stating many aspects and changes to the airline. CEO Said " We cannot wait for 2000, it will be a great year for JetAway.co.uk"

Winter 1999:

- Open Girona Base
- Order 1x ATR-300 & 1x Bombardier CRJ-100LR
- Scrap all remaining DHC-3 Aircraft
- Cease Base operations at Newcastle & Doncaster

Spring 2000

- Possible Buy an Airbus a319 for longer haul flights (Based at LHR)
- Cease operations at Dundee airport
- Begin flights from Newquay airport using new CRJ-100/200


Summer 2000

- Invest in more jet aircraft capable of doing shuttles to America from european bases
- Review all Bases and close and open where nesscesary

November 1999

MORE GREAT ROUTES FOR COVENTRY

Today, we started another fantastic link for Coventry airport. A Star Alliance (Operated by us!) daily flight to Madris Barajas airport in Spain. Also, we started a daily flight from Newcastle to Koln-Bonn airport. This is Newcastles first JetAway flight since we ceased using the airport as a base last month. Newcastle airport manager said "It is great we have a stable overseas link, and we hope to have more for next summer as passenger numbers have declined since JetAway left the airport. Coventry airport manager said" Passenger number have gone through the roof this month, after the overseas Cologne link begun last month. We are dlighted that we are one the airlines secondary bases, and we hope this great relationship stays strong.

Our Girona base opens On November 28th, basing a new CRJ-100LR aircraft capable of holding 52 passengers. New routes from Girona include: Coventry, Newcastle, Paris, London Heathrow, Lisbon and to new destinations such as Leeds Bradford. JetAway was planning on putting a link between Doncaster-Sheffield and Girona, however due to other airline competitors we have pulled out. We are also ceasing the use of Doncaster Sheffield Airport from the end of the month.

November 1999

NEW LEASE OF LIFE FOR COVENTRY AIRPORT

Coventry airport, which has had low passenger numbers and failing finances has today been given a new lease of live by JetAway.co.uk today. In May 1999, a month after opening, JetAway set up two domestic flights from coventry (To Manchester and Newcastle), but due to low passenger numbers and change of aircraft, the newcastle route discontinued in September 1999. Today, Our first allianced flight from coventry took off to Cologne-Bonn airport in Germany. We are using DHC-3 aircraft, which will be replaced from november by our new ATR-42's. The route is the first overseas flight from coventry in over 10 years. The Airport Manager said " We are delighted to have this connection, and we hope JetAway flights from coventry really do take off!"

There has also been plans for a Coventry to Girona flight when our Girona base opens in November. Coventry is now our 3rd Biggest UK Airport, and we have now made it into a secondary base for the airline.

October 1999

MOVE TO CRJ JETS WAS THE RIGHT ONE

Figures out today, says that the move to CRJ jets was the right one. Profits were up by 25% and maintance costs were down one there first full month of service. More CRJ jets are hopefull going to be ordered next spring.

LONDON HEATHROW BASE OPENS

Today, we opened out base at London Heathrow and begun 7 routes throughout europe, using one of our new CRJ-200 aircraft. The base, which is allianced due to FlyAway joining star alliance last month, is a huge financial gain for the airline.

JETAWAY CEASE USING NEWCASTLE AIRPORT AS A BASE

JetAway announced today that they would cease using Newcastle Airport as a base, just 4 months after opening. The decision comes after the airline joined the Star Alliance earlier this month, and hade the opportunity to start an allianced base from London Heathrow using a CRJ-200 aircraft. "We assesed which airport has the least return, and on that subject, we had to regretfully leave Newcastle." 7 new routes are been created using the CRJ-200 aircraft formely based at newcastle, including one new route, Basel in Austria. But on a better not, toady we put in an order for another ATR-42 aircraft which will be partly based at both London Stansted and Heathrow, meaning another DHC-3 will be scrapped by the end of the month.

September 1999 -

JETAWAY FLEET REDESIGN

CEO of JetAway.co.uk has announced today that the airline would sell its one A320 aircraft and replace with 3, 50 seater Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft. this is due to high mainataince and fuel costs. The aircraft will be sold for 60 Million euros and 3 15million CRJ-200's will be brough in. These aircraft will cover overseas flights from all of its 3 UK bases, and the 1 ATR-43 aircraft (Based at Manchester) will stick with domestic flights. In the future, we ope to order more CRJ-200 Aircraft, and in 2001, When the brand new 117 seater CRJ-700 is launched ,we hope to aquire a atleast 5 of these new CRJ-700's for overseas and longer haul flights. We hope to keep our Fleet with ATR's and Bombardier's/
