General Chat / Re: noob question, how many days in a month?

Yes, each month is 24 days long (each day lasts about an hour in real-time).

Bugs / Re: Excessive 0.5 routes
« on: February 18, 2010, 02:20:26 am »
Technically, it should be possible to have an infinite (within time constraints) number of 0.5 routes per hub if the 0.5 routes went from two bases to each destination, like with:
A to B to C to D to A, where A and C are hubs and each flight is one way.

This routing is logically impossible to fly without teleporting, because ICN, DXB, and CPH (all hubs/alliance bases) each have a 1 freq and a 0.5 freq flight.

The I actually appears to be the Greek letter Iota (Ι), rather than the I in the Roman alphabet.

Bugs / Re: Cannot Create Route
« on: January 10, 2010, 03:20:59 am »
What route are you trying to create, and what are airplane are you trying to use?  It may be that your airplane does not have enough hours to do a 0.5 frequency flight, or that it already has two 0.5 freq. flights from the same airport and doesn't have enough time to do a 1 frequency flight.
Another thing to check is if you have an open slot at both the destination, and the hub airport.  This couldn't be the whole problem though (it would still show the aircraft in the list).

Yes, I am the only operator at the airport.

I thought that might have been the problem, but I actually created the base yesterday, and have logged in several times today.  The market share shows up correctly on the airport's page.

Bugs / Market Share shows up as 0%, but should be 100%

ID: Airport ID: 215 (Narsarsuaq - UAK/BGBW)
Type: Market Share Calculation
Airline Details: Freedom Air ICELAND - ID 33390 [Public World 1110]
Description:
On the the page you go to after entering a world, there is a "World Info - At a Glance" section that shows the percent market share in several airports.  One of my hubs, Narsarsuaq*, shows up as 0% for me, even though I actually have 100%.  This also occurs on the Operations page.
*Narsarsuaq has zero passengers per year according the airport page :o

Bugs / Re: View All Aircraft Page - Strange Dates
« on: January 04, 2010, 01:03:16 am »
The two Boeing's were using old data that was changed. In order to stop them from being ordered but retain the aircraft information for existing aircraft they were given abstract manufacturing dates. This loosely relates to a time around this post: http://stephenm.org/smfforum/index.php?topic=10142.0

Santa's Sleigh is similar to the Boeing's. To stop people from actually ordering it, the aircraft was given an abstract manufacturing date. It was used I think on one occasion at Christmas prior to Multi-worlds. As for the manufacturer, I have no explanation for that.

Thanks for the explanation.  :D

Bugs / [NAB] View All Aircraft Page - Strange Dates
« on: January 04, 2010, 12:07:46 am »
On the View All Aircraft Page (under Aircraft), some of the dates are a bit funny.  The Boeing 737-400 and Boeing 737-500 both show up as being introduced in year 1, and there is a plane called "Santa's Sleigh" (the Manufacturer is Team Farrell) available from 0 to 20.  :o

Bugs / View Routes
« on: January 03, 2010, 11:29:22 pm »
ID: N/A
Type: Minor
Description:
On the View Routes page, at the bottom of each list of routes (when shown by hub using the options to the right), there is a line that says "Summary for XXX Airport".  Under the list of alliance routes, it says "Summary for Vienna International Airport", which happens to be the airport above that list.

I have hubs at Baltimore, Chicago-Midway, Vienna, and Washington-Dulles.

Game Strategy / Re: 0.5 frequency, but should be 10 frequency
« on: January 02, 2010, 06:17:13 pm »
Yep, you just have to play around with the prices and frequencies.  Usually though, you will make more profit creating another route with the same plane (reducing frequencies to 1) than you would by increasing frequencies.

« on: January 02, 2010, 05:05:02 pm »
Hi, it might be possible that you forgot to set the frequencies for that route.
When you are creating the route, you go through a few different pages.  There is a page that lets you choose what plane you want to fly a route (step 3 if the in-game manual is activated), and another page that lets you set the ticket price (step 4).

The page that lists your aircraft will always show you the maximum number of frequencies that each plane can fly, which depends on their hours left and the number of open slots at both airports.  Since this is your first route, and Houston Hobby to Dallas Love Field is a short distance, the number of frequencies should be high, and there might be a "*" under the notes column (which says that plane can fly even more frequencies).

The next page is where you set the ticket price and frequency.  The frequency (in a drop down menu under the ticket price box) is set to 0.5 automatically, and if your plane can fly more than that, it will let you choose.  If you don't change it here, the plane will fly a 0.5 frequency on that route, which I think is what happened.

Hope that helps!  :D

Bugs / Illogical Routing Allowed
« on: December 29, 2009, 07:05:08 pm »
ID: Aircraft ID - 5753
Type: Route Logic
Description:
I have a Boeing 707-320 flying these routes (0.5x):
IAD-MAD (ID 26041)
VIE-IAD (ID 26045)

I was somehow able to put it on another 0.5 frequency route: IAD-ANC.

I have a hub at both IAD and VIE, and only the second route departs from VIE.

Bugs / Re: Route Filter
« on: December 27, 2009, 08:26:34 pm »
My route filters moved down to the bottom of the page a few weeks ago in world 1073 (it's still on the right in 1110).  I'm using IE7 on Windows Vista and IE8 on Windows 7.

My guess is that they moved down because the name of one of my hubs is so long.

Bugs / Re: Typos - centralized thread
« on: December 21, 2009, 09:30:58 pm »
As much as I find the Glen Burnie part to be illogical, I guess it does need to have a city name.

On this page, under "Remarks", it shows a correction to the name of the airport that has the second "L" in Marshall.  Is this an acceptable source?
