General Chat / how are you able to play this game

pTr, TEVA South lol    Pretty big airline...


Anyways... I have to race with 4 major airlines     Think Airlines, Iguana (top in South America), Pro Air

Yeeeeeah fear Pro Air!!!!

Seriously, if someone wants to run a money losing $10 flight they can go ahead.  I'm not going to run a money losing route (maybe easy for me to say since I'm pretty sizable).  I'll hit em on another one of their routes and/or wait until they decide they don't want to lose money anymore and swoop back in.  There are too many potential routes out there to use aircraft on to lose hundreds a day in a $5 fare war.  Everyone who starts from scratch wants to fly ORD-JFK and the like but at this stage of the game, that's a non starter.

Check out CLE-CVG someday for a good chuckle.  The 10 Dash-8 flights at $5 are an excellent business decision.

Then why are you chucking $20 flights at me in Madison

It's all good fun

I'm not losing money on them yet.....

It makes sense in a few ways.  On a long high volume route sometimes you can't get as many frequencies as you would like out of one aircraft.  So, since you can't do 2 or 3 frequencies with one aircraft, you go with one each from 2 or 3, or 2 with one and one from another, etc.

Also, say you are hubbed at LGA.  Even if you're only running a few aircraft, it seems like many end up with an hour or 2 left once you're done scheduling them.  Using more than one aircraft at the same price for one frequency each on a high volume short distance route like LGA-BOS, or LGA-PHL, is an easy way to maximize your fleet utilization and use those "scrap hours."

2 Things in Canada-

There are 2 YOW's, the one labeled "Ottowa" can probably go.

Hamilton was recently set up, but its passenger count is way overstated.  According to its annual report, it had 527, 133 in 2006.
