Profile AG Airways is an Indian airline owned by Dr. Akhil Govind's AG Group(100%) , which is a well known name to all Indians. The airline is headquartered at New Kochi City, and operates primarily from Cochin International Airport. The airline also has a significant base in Tokyo Haneda International Airport.
The airline operates between North America, Europe , Middle East and Asia, using a fleet of 9 ( as of Feb 1988) aircraft. It is the first airline in India which has an Aerosptiale-BAC Concorde of its own. The company has a Five Star rating from Airtrax for its quality of service and on-time performances with 100% capacity on all flights. The airline is ranked 2nd in India, carrying a total of 9000 passengers per day around the world, which is a significant feat for an airline just 2 years old. Another significant feat of the airline is that it makes a turnover of 200 million Dollars an year.
History The airline was started with the dream of making people from India reach almost any corner of the world. The Chairman, Dr Akhil Govind, is a well know entreprenuer in India as well as in Asia for his various charitable as well as profit endeavours like the AG Hotels & Resorts, AG Malls, AG Hybrid Fuels, AG Labs, AG Hospitals, AG Telecom, AG Visual Media, AG Banks and also the AG Institute of Mathematical Sciences.
The airline started with initially 5 brand new B 737-200 Adv HGW on routes from Cochin to Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Colombo, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Riyadh, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai ( which was later discontinued and restarted early in 1988) and Soekarno Hatta.
Dr. Akhil Govind, just like his role model Sir Richard Branson , had placed a one year probationary time on the airline to see whether the model would work. The airline became profitable by the first month and since then there has been no turing back for the airline.
In 1987, the airline joined the Transky alliance and bought 3 new planes with which the global reach of the airline increased to , especially in China and Japan.
In late 1987 , the airline placed an order for the Concorde and started a round the world operation in 1988 with the slogan, " From Denver to Tokyo in 1 day, Fly AGS"
Company Affairs The company's Head Quarters is located in the AGPlex of New Kochi city. This office megacomplex is the headquarters of the AG Group. About 100,000 million employees will be present at the complex at a given time.
The company is a member of the Transky alliance of Private World# 1991, which is the biggest alliance in the world.

Ground & In-flight services:Ground Services: The airline has a separate Terminal at Cochin International Airport. The Terminal is a world class space made with green technology and fitted with bomb indestructible materials. There are 5 gates which can cater to 50 aircraft at a time. In its other destinations, AG Airways offers faster check-in to its passengers.
In-flight services: The airline offers Economy only. Passengers on domestic flight are provided with free snacks and soft drinks while on international flights, the airline offers multi-cuisine meals whose prices are factored into the fares.
AG Club: This is the airline's frequent flier program. Passengers can avail special discounts on flights as well as at other AG Group Hospitality services. The airline also has lounges at its airline bases for its Club members , which are provided with complimentary Wi-fi services.
Online check-in: The airline is in the process of launching its new website in which the passengers can buy/edit tickets online and also check-in hours before the flight.
