General Chat / Re: .5 Frequency

Assuming I have two hubs X and Y, I've been trying to do:

A-X-B-Y-C-X-D with no success as that would make 4 0.5 routes out of X, yet it would be a perfectly functional routing. Is there any way to do this?

They won't do it, but it only makes sense. Anyone with half a brain knows the best result is when loadfactor reaches 100%, so then it just becomes a painful exercise in trial and error, mindlessly reloading pages and repeating for every route you want to create.

Is there any evidence of this aircraft existing in real life? I've done a Google search and all results are references to Airline mogul...

General Chat / Livery request

Hi, it's another one of these.

This one is quite simple- the current OpenSkies livery (with BA tail) on an MD-80. Thanks

I'm proud to say I never use any overworked aircraft!

MD-81's in w593, while everyone else is using Dassault Mercures/10B's.

A310  ;)

I'm surprised how under-used it is.

Is there something wrong with the poll? My vote doesn't seem to be showing up.

Edit: I just realised the problem. My browser got the little check boxes and the images mixed up, and therefore I mis-voted for the one above. If you could change my vote from the fifth one to the last one, that'd be great.
Cheers.

General Chat / Re: Competition - Design a Livery for the Dash 8-Q300

It's still the 3rd of July in Sydney!

Nevertheless, I decided simple would be best. This is my special US Airways livery named after Cactus 1549 pilot Chesley Sullenberger. I've edited out some of the template, including removing the landing gear so hope that's not illegal.  ;)

Game Strategy / Re: The Most Profitable Aircraft in AM

If you start playing in the 2000s, the Boeing 717-200 is beast. 34-38 million for 117 pax, good speed and decent fuel usage. I can make 600K per in an airport with 18 carriers based in it.

Not really, comparing pure stats the E195 just pips the 717 in my opinion.

Funny the biggest duds in real life can be the most profitable aircraft here.

CRJ-701LR.

I'm lovin' it right now. Doing nearly 20 routes per day, at 515 knots. What else can you say  8) 8)

What really irks me is when people have a cashload of money sitting there and yet still operate substamdard aircraft. So when you can, replace those ATR's with CRJ-700(ER)(LR)'s! They are a bit on the expensive side (27m), but since their speed is double that of the ATR you can use one CRJ to replace two ATR's worth of routes. Not to mention maintenance fees.

These are my aircraft I use-

CRJ-701LR for regional- incredible speed (515!), and good range without scarificing capacity. A bit on the costly side though, about 5 or 6 times the cost of the cheapest ATR-72 (similar capacity)

A319LR for some international routes- You can't beat that. 110 seats, good range (5175) and quite speedy too. And very affordable at just $46m. Better than the A318 in terms of cost/profit. (And I like to have fleet commonality)

A330-200/A310-300- Don't discount the A310. It can be as good as or better than the newer A330 counterpart. nevertheless both have good range ans speed, and are cheaper than the Boeing equivalents

A340-500- My future a/c for my ultra long haul route  8)

By the way I stronly recomment against setting up your first base at an airport or region in which you aren't familiar.

Game Strategy / Re: Best Aircraft For ATR 42-320 replacement

CRJ-701(ER)(LR)

Their speed is over double the ATR at 515 knots, meaning you only need one CRJ to replace both ATR's. Once I saw the CRJ's speed I immediately chucked out all my Dash 8's.
