I like the idea very much! I would like to suggest studying the possibility of code share agreement not only alliances. The difference would be that in a code share agreement you will not be able to start routes from other bases but you will benefit in two ways: passengers flying from or to your origin point. For example if carrier A flies from North America to Europe, then carrier B can take those passengers throughout its european/middle east/asian network. The revenues can be shared or there can be a fixed monthly fee.

Also, when joining an alliance, airlines shouldn´t be able to compete on existing routes. The idea is to open up new routes to new destinations.

It would be useful to create routes more easily. In the research route screen after you have selected the origin and destination airport there should be a "create route icon" that automatically rents a gate at the origin/destination airport and all you have to do is select the aircraft and set the price.

Game Strategy / Re: The Most Profitable Aircraft in AM
« on: August 13, 2009, 09:00:47 pm »
There isn´t such a thing. Every route has a most profitable aircraft and iis not the same for every route. It really depends on where your hub is located, what airports you are planning on flying into (number of passengers) distance and route potential (Excelent, Very Good, Good) and also look at the competition on the routes. Sometimes a Fokker Fellowship aircraft with 70 plus seats gives you more profit than an Airbus A319 with 130 seats plus. The more you fly your aircraft usually yields out higher profit. Example: A 319 flying 3 routes with average earning of 80,000 per route=$240.000 compared to a Fokker flying 6 routes with average earning of 70,000 per route=$420.000.

Bugs / PW#488 problems creating alliance routes
« on: August 13, 2009, 07:50:14 pm »
Please look into this mattter: Air Italy (ID 27176) is a member of the Star Alliance. The airline is based in Rome and Milan. I am unable to create routes from neither city. They don´t show up in the gate search feature. Why? I don´t see the cities listed in the alliance ranking (where you can see how many alliance flights have been created)

Bugs / Re: Duplicate accounts?

If you have read my post correctly, I was not accusing anybody. I was just suggesting some rare coincidences for the appropriate person to look into so as to avoid unfair competition. Nevertheless, I will email airline mogul. Thanks.

Bugs / Duplicate accounts?

Please look into PW#488. Notice there are airlines with similar names and hubs. Could these be duplicate accounts?

It seems to me very suspicious.

Bugs / Re: PW 488 Airline ID 22682 Unable to edit alliances routes.

I appreciate your straight answer. However, editing a route is quite different from creating a new route. Even though the flight quota is exceeded, you are still operating  routes which might need to be edited. Otherwise why would you create an alliance flight knowing that you probably won´t be able to edit it. On the same line, why is it alowed to exceed the quota? Does a 1 frequency flight from airpot A to Airport B counts as 2 flights for the alliance quota? I think this should be revised in order to allow users to edit the  routes any time (unless of course the airline opertaing the departure airport leaves the alliance) If necessary there should be a .5 frequency restriction in order to avoid exceeding the quota.

Bugs / PW 488 Airline ID 22682 Unable to edit alliances routes.

Let me bring to your attention the following problem:

I think there is a misconception on the use of the concept "create route" when editing a route: In fact, create means "To cause to exist" while edit means "To modify or adapt so as to make suitable or acceptable." When you are editing a route you are not creating a new route. Therefore, editing a route should be possible even  in the case of alliance hubs where the maximum number of flights have been excedeed. The only condition necesary for editing alliance routes should be that the airline based at any particular hub is still a member of the alliance (and that such airline have not left the alliance after the route was created).  I bring this to your atention since I am heavily dependable on the alliance routes many of which i cannot edit even though the airline based at the hub is still a member of the alliance. Look for example routes from Orlando just to name  hub.

Looking forward to your reply,
