Manchester-17th January 1974

UK Airways continues to grow  from strength to strength. We now serve 243 destinations from Manchester and now achieve daily revenues in excess of of 10 million. We currently have a further 7 SE210-10B and SE210-10R aircraft on order to continue our programme of upgrading our existing service while expanding it to more customers. We have now headed out of Europe in another direction by adding 3 destinations in North Africa while continuing our growth across Europe. Our share of departures at Manchester has once again risen to almost two-thirds (65.5%) of all seats and our fleet is now made up of the following aircraft:

5 Embraer 110C
10 Fokker F27-400
13 Fokker F27-600

Manchester-21st November 1973

The "UK Airways Express" revamp has been successfully completed. The key points of the revamp are that the largest destinations previously operated by Embraer 110C aircraft under the "UK Airways Express" brand have been transferred to the main operation with flights operated by Fokker F27-600 aircraft. The "UK Airways Express" operation has grown from 3 to 5 aircraft after three new arrivals and the withdrawal from service of the longest serving Embraer 110C, these five aircraft between them now serve 46 smaller destinations at an average distance of 285 miles and a longest distance of 668 miles. These new destination in the "UK Airways Express" mean that the two operations between them now serve:
All 60 airports in the UK
All 13 airports in Ireland
42 airports in France (out of 102)
27 airports in Germany (out of 58)
as well as over 80% of all airports in the Benelux states

UK Airways' main operation has opened new routes to Russia and in its first steps out of Europe daily services to Istanbul and Antalya have also been launched within the last month.

The total number of destinations served by UK Airways has now reached 200 and the fleet has grown to 31 aircraft.

Aircraft Operated:
5 Embraer 110C
8 Fokker F27-400
13 Fokker F27-600
2 SE210-10R
3 SE210-10B

Aircraft on order:
2 Fokker F27-400
2 Fokker F27-600
4 SE210-10B

The aircraft currently on order will strengthen UK Airways' presence on some existing routes with extra capacity while other aircraft will provide routes new destinations in eastern and southern europe.

We continue to dominate at our home base in Manchester with over 60% of all passengers at the airport using our flights

Manchester-23rd October 1973

Having started with a single Embraer 110C operating on key domestic routes, UK Airways Ltd has grown to be the dominant carrier at its home base of Manchester with almost 2/3 of all arriving and departing passengers at the airport flying with UK Airways at the time of writing.

The airline's fleet has expanded to includethe following aircraft:
3 Embraer 110C
8 Fokker F27-400
10 Fokker F27-600
3 Sud Aviation SE210-10B

The Embraer 110C aircraft operate under the "UK Airways Express" brand serving smaller airports from Manchester. The Fokker F27 aircraft serve the bulk of the airline's more than 150 destinations across the UK, Ireland, Iberia, Western and Central Europe, Scandinavia and Italy. UK Airways recently introduced 2 SE210-10B aircraft as its first jet aircraft. These 2 aircraft serve 15 of the airline's most biggest and important destinations providing greater speed and capacities than the Fokker 27s they replaced.

The airline is currently waiting on the delivery of 3 further Embraer 110C aircraft to allow the airline to revamp and expand the "UK Airways Express" brand while also allowing it to retire the oldest serving member of its fleet. 3 more F27-600s will provide more routes to Scandinavia, Iberia and Central Europe while the new SE210s will allow the airline to provide the greater capacities and speeds afforded by the jets to more of its key existing destinations while also adding new destinations in Eastern Europe.
