General Chat / Slapping Myself Silly

I'm back in limited form... not going to have the time to climb to Top 5 this time, and I'm going to stay in it until I lose interest again because someone tanks LF with multiple freqs.  Not complaining, just stating the facts for myself.

This game kind of has an rpg feel to it, and bad names like that break the immersion.

"Immersion?"

I think you have more pressing issues to be concerned about.

I just noticed a plane (a Pilatus PC-6/B2-H2 Turbo-Porter) I'm leasing out to another airline is operating with -100 hours left and making a tidy ~$400K profit.

Plane ID is 716, W8.

if anyone has any clue as to how he hit -100 hours... please PM me.

The owner didn't know.
Yep, I have no idea, and if I could take back the plane I would.  They are running like a 9.5 freq between DEN and Apple-something, Wisconsin.  (Sorry, not in the game right now).

All I can add was when I checked right after he leased out the plane (just to see), they were running 2 routes from DEN (maxing out freqs).  Then as natural I just ignored it until I was closing up shop, that's when I noticed the -100 hours.

General Chat / Lease or Buy

It doesn't matter what world you're in, leasing is a good way to jumpstart your ops.  Why sit around for 24 hours for a new plane to come when you can lease a plane and make a profit over those 24 hours vs. having dead time.

I'm actually confused at the statement that leasing in W8 specifically is a bad idea.

EDIT:  I had to check... what's funny is that Wizzie there is leasing in 2 aircraft for his operations with no aircraft on order.  Hmm....

General Chat / Cheating or just unfair?

i insist. that this is no excuse. i also have a big airline, i fly to almost every possible place below 2000nm arround my bases, and im saying is impossible to get 99.5% and mantain it. In europe, from big bases like mine, say frankfurt, madrid, etc, there is NO ROUTE without some competition.

its not a nonsense, for christ sake. i doubt is too hard for someone who knows programming well to make a greasemonkey script or something.
Actually, it's damn near impossible for me to do that, since I have no idea how to program.

you have to at least agree with me that for a big airline to mantain above 90% loadfactor you have to be the entire day editing routes.
No, I don't have to agree.  But I don't suck at this game.

all this is possible.

but by the other hand, we yes, have cheaters on the game. its easy to see them; check the 10 top players of your world and you will see 99,5% loadfactors. thats absolutely impossible unless they use some cheating script to update their routes.

you can see that the real players, have 80, 85%: thats the best you can get when you have so many routes. im world#6 number 17 in the rank, and i cant get more then 87% loadfactor, because i would have to stay the entire day updating my routes. if i click right now on routes under 50% loadfactor, i get more then 150 routes do edit. imagine someone twice as bigger then me, with 95% loadfactor...

santa claus i guess.
I guess that's how you make yourself feel better?

Not odd at all for people to have orders already. I have 12 AN-2Ps on order..

Same here.  Obviously, I must have cheated or were given special treatment

I'm impressed by the person who squeezed out 30 routes out of ORD with one plane.  How come no one cried foul over that?

I gotta say, I'm happy with the few that I have, but they are pretty mission specific, and the last few that I bought were specifically to compete with others.  Right now I have one just sitting in the hangar.

Bugs / Load Factor drops with no competition
« on: May 13, 2008, 07:02:43 am »
W3, Route No. 51534.

My LF dropped to 77.50%, and when I went to edit it, there was no competition listed.  wtf?

Incidentally I had to waste yet another €348,035 get it up to 100%.

Bugs / Bug when editing route, "No aircraft found"

apologies for my length delay in getting to this, it's been ungodly busy here...

Anyways.  Aircraft ID 3909 appears to have (due to a database change on DC-9 family) been pushed past 24.01 hours, rendering all routes it flies uneditable until that is fixed.  apologies about this, but we believe that (unlike the airport database), the aircraft database is less likely to change thereby we take the risk that if it does change, it may cause routes to be locked in.

B727s had a slight adjustment to their speed IIRC, which may be (on what appears to be a very tight schedule) what is locking up the routes for aircraft 9341.

Apologies on both counts, however when possible we do our best to clear out inaccurate data in the aircraft database.

I had thought that this was due to these updates, but unfortunately (apologies again) could not get to it sooner then this.
Thanks for the updates... I'll drop a route on each aircraft as soon as I'm able to, hopefully that will fix it...?

I get this... and I was informed that if your alliance stops having a hub in that city, it won't let you edit the route but it will let you close it.

Sanosuke!
I'm not in an alliance.
