What's so special about this plane that almost 700 are in service other than its cheap?

For a number of reasons...

Because; no other plane, currently available in World 10, can deliver the amount of passengers out to a range of ~550 NM, for the cost of the, VardaxServ-Aero Hotter.

Because; eight of the current top ten airlines chose it as their fleet starter, so other airlines figure it must be worth purchasing.

Because; since it is so popular, other people feel that it must be good, and purchase it themselves.

Bugs / [FIXED] LF bug!!! (not important at all)

This is not a real problem. The "View Routes" page information simply rounds up.

Try this procedure - follow it exactly:

1. Go to the "View Routes Page".

2. Set the 2nd drop down menu as such; Default Setting = Show All Routes By Hub

3. Set the 3rd drop down menu as such; Default Setting = Route Loadfactor Ascending

4. Set the 1st drop down menu as such; Show Routes From = Show All Under 100% Loadfactor

5. Edit the route(s) which now show up on your screen - even if they say 100% Loadfactor.

6. Now verify with your aircraft "info" screen.

You should now be satisfied.

You would do better to try and find places people are not flying to mate. Less competition = more money.

Unless it is a very large airport.

Look at the original quote to figure where I'm based at.

I looked up 3 airlines in Chicago and they have the exact same route structure!  I wonder if a certain premium feature is responsible...

Pfffft...

I wouldn't know, as I don't have any premium features.

I just look at the "view airport" screen, and take notes on where everyone else is going. Then I make routes to those destinations.
:D

If I have any hours on an aircraft left over, I make routes with the aid of an atlas next to my computer.

The location on the world map for Madrid Cuatro Vientos - MCV, is currently displayed in northern Australia. I believe that a more correct representation would be somewhere in the middle of the Iberian peninsula.

Admin tab in game -> Game Manual.

I don't know if I shoulds keep my small planes or sell them, like my starting nord aircraft and such, well?

Too much of a general question for any meaningful answer.

Are you EuropeCONNECTION in World 9?

If so, I (or someone else) can likely give an answer based on your hub sizes, general competition, and the goals you have set for your airline.

But there are points in time when you can raise your price  :P

This is likely the "trans-hub effect".

Don't ask me how that is calculated, I really don't know, nor am aware of any way to do so.
Only thing I know for certain, is that it is much more significant from the large pax airports (ATL, ORD, LHR, HND, etc.), compared to the lower ones.

OK but in that case, what are Alliances used for, if they don't give you more traffic (ie passengers)?
Are they just "no competition" alliances?

Viking Air/W9

There is a small passenger boost for belonging to an alliance. Don't need to fly from any of their hubs to get the effect, nor they from yours.

You can fly from alliance bases. Flights maximums are set by the founding airline.

The best use for an alliance, is having other people you can relate to, communicate with, and understand the game and its environment better. This last point largely depends on the particular membership of the alliance, above anything else.

Bugs / Automatic Aircraft Registration
« on: July 17, 2008, 07:34:34 pm »
I have some planes coming in from the manufacture. The new feature of registering aircraft has kicked in automatically.

Here are some examples...

Aircraft ID, followed by registration (World #9):

13094  RA-11119
13095  RA-1111:
13106  RA-1111;
13107  RA-1111<
13108  RA-1111=
13109  RA-1111>
13110  RA-1111?
13111  RA-1111@
13131  RA-1111A

You might want to get rid of some of these (above) potential character types.

General Chat / Lease Out or Sell
« on: July 13, 2008, 06:50:23 am »
Depends on too many things for anyone to give a qualitative answer.

What's the  general market condition like in your world?

Is it already saturated with good aircraft?

Does your aircraft have any marketable value compared to what is already out there?

Is your world about to end, or just beginning? This makes a big difference.

How old and used is the aircraft? Some people shy away from cycles and frame hours - even though it is not implemented in the game.

Do you think you can price competitively with the rest of the aircraft on the market? Or are you willing to "hold out" till you get your price (rarely ever happens)?

What is the general skill level of the people in your world (this can be determined by airline ID numbers)? Most newbies don't know the benefits of leasing, and would rather buy.

Is it a model that people readily recognize in real life (don't matter if its good in the game or not)? Most people will grab aircraft they are familiar with - instead of what works well in the game.

Why do you have a poll? Are you really going to base your decision on the polling results?

I suppose the general answer would be: It's best to either sell or lease, along the prevailing market conditions and your airlines financial situation.

Bugs / Alliance bases missing
« on: July 08, 2008, 09:50:54 pm »
No.
I saw your post when I logged in yesterday morning, and when I checked the alliance screen, sure enough you were right. I could only see your alliance bases, and not mine.
I created another base later on that afternoon, and by the time I went to bed, only yours were visible in the alliance screen. I was able to close and create routes from your bases and all, but obviously you could not from mine.
Then logging in this morning, I checked the alliance screen and behold, all bases were now visible.
Either the administration fixed the bug, or it takes 24 hours for alliance bases to appear - I don't know.
