General Chat / Re: Guess the aircraft!
« on: August 20, 2019, 05:25:52 am »That colour looks quite Soviet to me
It does, doesn't it?

Suggestions / Re: Route Metrics
« on: August 19, 2019, 07:46:58 pm »They sound like good suggestions, I'll forward them to Stephen
Which data in the view routes would be the most useful?
If I have block time, fare, and flight distance on there, I'll be happy. Number of seats would be helpful too, but aircraft type is on there so that one isn't a big deal.
Suggestions / Re: Route Metrics
« on: August 19, 2019, 05:35:15 pm »Have you tried the new view routes page? You can toggle between the old and the new on the top of the routes table.
With the new maintenance formula in testing you should be able to view costs on a fleet basis, maybe also on individual aircraft
1. Yes, I have tried the new routes page. It's better, but it doesn't allow me to see many of the mentioned data points in one place
2. I'm able to see what my entire fleet costs me in maintenance, but not each individual aircraft. At least as far as I've seen
Suggestions / Route Metrics
« on: August 19, 2019, 04:41:47 am »As an aside, I'd also like to see what my maintenance costs are on a per-aircraft basis.
General Chat / Favorite/Least Favorite Aircraft (from passenger perspective)
« on: August 14, 2019, 04:18:26 am »Favorite:
Embraer E-Jet series (pretty much everything about it)
Boeing 767 (I love the 2-3-2 configuration, wide seats)
Honorable Mentions:
Airbus A320 series (as long as you're not flying American or one of the ULCs)
MD8X/MD90/B717 (the MD80s are quite up there in age, and you don't want to be in the back, but I like the wide seats and the 3-2 configuration)
Least Favorite:
Bombardier CRJ200 (nothing good about it, quite frankly)
Dishonorable Mention:
United's 777-300 (attractive and new cabin, but economy is tight with the 3-4-3 config and some of the narrowest seats in the air)

That was a good one, Stephen- took me a bit to figure out!
Airline Reports / Re: AirPolaris - Public World #2006
« on: August 20, 2011, 11:43:57 pm »On another note, we will be accepting the delivery of our first 737 aircraft in just one day. This will be the largest aircraft in our fleet, and will most likely be used for medium-traffic trans-continental operations (e.g. St. Louis to San Diego). High traffic routes will most likely go to the slightly larger planes that are currently on order.
Airline Reports / AirPolaris - Public World #2006
« on: August 20, 2011, 08:23:38 am »(The new logo! )
AirPolaris is an airline based out of St. Louis, MO. We are currently the 4th largest airline operating out of St. Louis in terms of passengers carried (3rd in terms of gate utilization and destinations), with a market share just over 7%. We also recently opened our second hub in San Francisco, CA to better serve the west coast. We always strive for the best service for our passengers, while also ensuring maximum efficiency. Our current fleet is as follows (number in parenthesis = number on order/for sale):
4 x ATR 42-500 (0)
1 x ATR 72-210 (0)
1 x BAe ATP (0)
2 x Beech 1900D (0)
0 x Boeing 737-400 (+1)
0 x Boeing 737-500 (+1)
0 x Bombardier Challenger 601-3A/ER (+2)
1 x Bombardier CRJ-100 (0)
1 x Bombardier CRJ-100ER (0)
2 x Bombardier CRJ-100LR (0)
4 x CASA C212-300 (-4)
1 x CASA C212C (-1)
1 x Saab 340B (0)
Current Fleet: 18
Active Fleet: 13
On Order: 4
For Sale: 5
Leased Out: 0
We recently retired our fleet of 6 C212s, which were bought secondhand, and replaced them with 4 brand new ATR 42-500s. After some route route reorganization (which involved moving some of my original 1900D routes to larger aircraft, as well ending our first and least profitable route from St. Louis to Kansas City), the former C212 routes were distributed mostly among the new ATR 42s with some less profitable routes moved over to 1900Ds.
We have also ordered 2 Boeing 737 aircraft (-400 and -500 series) to better integrate our east and west coast operations (so you don't have to connect in St. Louis or San Francisco if you want to travel across the country), with more orders planned for the future. We are also planning to replace our fleet of Beech 1900Ds with 2 Bombardier Challenger business jets (which are equal in size to the 1900Ds they re replacing) in an experimental move. Because these planes are quite a bit faster, there will be some time freed up to serve new destinations. Because of the 4000+ nautical mile range, these aircraft can be used to reach anywhere in the continental United States (and then some). The free time can be taken up by directly serving smaller airports that are already served from another hub, but would be impractical to serve with a 737 or even a CRJ-100LR. In the future, this may be how smaller, remote airports are served (depending on the success of these planes), furthering our effort to integrate east and west coast operations.
See You Soon!

« on: August 20, 2011, 04:23:54 am »Your Airline Name/Slogan (If You Have One) - AirPolaris
Your Airline Logo - http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/4450/airpolaris.png
Country Your Airline Is Registered In - United States (St. Louis, MO)
Colors - Pretty much what you see in the logo- shades of blue. You are welcome to incorporate other colors, such as silvers and whites, to your taste. Just do what you think would look the best.
Extra Information - You can adapt the logo as you please; inclusion of the silhouette is optional (I just put that there to say my logo wasn't just plain text). Just do it as you please; the lesser the freedom, the lesser the results IMO. You obviously know what you're doing.

Colors: Blue, white, silver
Symbol or letter based what letter: Open to anything. Something related to my home base (St. Louis, MO) would be cool (e.g. the Gateway Arch), but it could be as simple as a stylized "AP"
