I agree with most of these ideas, especially #1. This would make it much easier to create a profitable long haul network.

It seems to me that short haul routes from major airports (even to tiny ones with <10 passengers) are extremely profitable, and this is what allows some airlines to grow so quickly. Airlines that attempt to create a long haul network normal grow very slowly in comparison.

Game Data / New Zealand Airports
« on: October 19, 2013, 12:11:44 pm »
The data for New Zealand airports is quite old, would it be possible for you to update this sometime in the near future? Also, very few of the airports have been assigned regions. If you would wished, I could email you a list of updated figures and sources for New Zealand airports.

Bugs / More than 100% Gate Utilization
« on: October 19, 2013, 06:26:15 am »
In one of the worlds I am in, I have noticed that one airline has over 100% gate utilization at some of their airports; at one airport, it is 203%. Is this a bug, a hack or is this something legitimate?

I wish there was some way do deal with annoying airlines in your alliance because in every alliance I've created someone always base-spams, no matter how clear you make it to alliance members that it isn't allowed.

It is important to allow airlines to grow, but in every world there are always a few airlines that grow at such a ridiculous rate that it becomes a real nuisance trying to compete with them. The first months of 'Maintenance World' were a good example of this; a few airlines had 1000s of routes within a week! Maybe a cap on the number of aeroplanes delivered at a time would be effective-perhaps a maximum or 10 a day from each manufacturer. For example, if you ordered 100 Boeing 737s, you would get 10 each day, or if you ordered 50 Boeing 737s and 50 Boeing 717s, you'd get 5 of each, each day. But, if you used different manufacturers and ordered 50 Airbus A320s and 50 Boeing 737s, you'd get 10 of each, each day. This would discourage extreme growth without stopping it all together because although it's possible to get lots of planes from lots of manufacturers, that is unlikely to give you an ideal fleet.
