Heh, even with the HGW package, 737-7s have nothing on the 4200nm A319s.. Think that's what hes trying to say  :P

Personally, I wondered if the 738, when released in AM, would even be worth it. Anyone here have it's in game stats? range, fuel ecno, turn time, speed, base price and price "fully loaded"?

Game Strategy / Re: Profitability of large airliners in W10
« on: August 28, 2008, 05:49:14 pm »
You need to have a high DOP for the larger planes.  250k min. for 757. 275k for 762E (7600nm ver). I would say the rule of thumb on the bigger planes is 300k dop. Thats just to break even. Remember that maint. increases every month. In 3 years(game wise) a 762E cost just under 6M in maint. So @ 300k DOP, after 3 yrs, your making 1.2M in profit off that 762E. (300*24= 7.2M-6M=1.2M) <Gate cost not included>

Also, you have to look at the cost to buy that plane. 150M for 762E. You dont spend 150M to make 1M overall profit. Thats just not good business.

If you able to make a high DOP thats great, but for most of the players, only a few large airplanes would suffice.

Then again, if your bases are ATL, ORD, LAX, LHR the likes. Then it doesnt really matter, you could fly 744s all over the place and prob break even. Bigger airports = Bigger income = Bigger airplanes. ^_^

"*Looking at my airline fleet and thinking: RJ or ATR?! "

Heh, yeah, using T-prop yields higher returns vs jet aircraft on short hops.

What I ment was I had* an equal number of CRJs and ATRs. So I was thinking, what am I? An RJ fleet or ATR fleet?

It was a lose "identity crisis" thought/ joke. Bleh, lost in translation  :P

Btw, I have more ATRs now xD !!

W10 eh? Well..

*Seeing A319 w/4200 range @ 59M ~ Great "across the pond" plane.
*Still wondering why 772 cost more fuel burn then A343. ??
*Wondering if I should have payed more attention to W10 instead of W9 ..
*Looking at my airline fleet and thinking: RJ or ATR?!

I also think of KFC when looking at KFC CV5800. Though, it has good numbers compared to others in its class.

"Fuel Flows were recently updated"

You know, I just figured that out  :o

I noticed the 733 & 735 were about 100 more fuel then W6. -_-"

Also, why is the A342 and A343 more fuel efficient then 772?

Other erm things ive noticed too. I didnt know MD-11ER had more range then everything cept 744...

Were these stats based on all Y config layouts or max payload @ standard seating?

Same questions for a few more modern planes..

Ah well, guess im just picky tonight  :P

Hmm perhaps there should be an "event" to suddenly raise costs for a short time. IE: fuel cost/blockage nation ect. ?  Im pretty sure of all the airliners, few have a solid business plan in game. This could help even out the playing field? Or really piss ppl off. One if not both ^_^

General Chat / Does AM Mirror Real Life in Any Way?
« on: July 22, 2008, 03:05:27 am »
Mmm off the top of my head.. more 735s were sold then 736s. In terms of sales... 737-100 lags behind the rest of the classics and next gen aircraft. Then its the 737-600.

Feel free to correct me if im wrong xD
