Bugs / Can't fly route???
« on: October 15, 2012, 06:39:12 am »
In world PW#2442, it's 1957.  I have a L1649 Starliner, range 7194mi. I'm trying to fly LHR-EZE (Ministro Pistarini International, Buenos Aires) the distance is only 6,928mi.  But AM says the aircraft is not capable of flying the route.  Can anyone explain this to me?

I wouldn't reset their airline right off.  I know that I occasionally spend time away from my airline.

See if there's a creative answer.  With British Air, I've started recreating subsidaries and franchises of British Airways. I even built the direct Qantus codeshares because Qantus doesn't exist in this world.  If you're stuck, add a new carrier, but announce this in the world message boards. EasyJet did an excellent job of adding Emirates.

However, if they are still growing but not responding to the messages, they're ignoring them.

I would suggest:
1) asking them to either explain their expansion or close the incorrect hubs.
2) warn them that the rules are guidelines, but blatantly ignoring them is unacceptable.  Warn them that if they persist or ignore the warning, their airline will be reset.
3) reset their airline with the warning that repeat behavior will result in removal.
4) remove the airline from the world.

The world requires a password to join.  If they didn't read the rules, that is their mistake.  If they had no intention of following the spirit of the rules, then they shouldn't be part of a world that has rules.  Most of us joined, expecting to follow the rules.

I'm looking at 20 years, maybe 1935-1955, possibly longer.  I'd have to buy more tokens to run much longer, so I definately want interest in the world first.  I'm looking at either 20 bases or unlimited because of the very short range of the early aircraft, that way you can build the "train stop" routes.

I'm thinking 2 Ford Tri-motors & $2mil-$3mil.  I'd ask some of the early airlines to hold a few "modern" planes in reserve for any late-comers to lease to have the more advanced planes.  I know I've been turned off getting into a world late because the starting aircraft are so outdated.

Definately full-world.  And between 30-50 players.

I am considering starting a very early airline game.  I'm thinking mid-1930s as a start date.  But before I do, I want to know if there's any interest in such a world.  Starting aircraft would be the old Tin-Goose. Thank you Henry Ford.

Oneworld Alliance has been formed by British Air as Oneglobe.  Feel free to join up!

Thanks!

I'd like to jump in flying for British Airways... but since they're supposedly picky about real world names & logos, I'm going with "British Air".  Give me a wave when you land at Heathrow...
