Alright. After much effort, thought, and time it seems multiworlds is just out of grasp for this reset.
Personally, looking at what's left, I think it can be pulled off within 24 days. Stephen seems to agree with me on this. Now our question is what to do with this estimate.
Please vote in the poll. Sorry about the late notice, I've been trying my best [as has stephen] to get this done by this reset.

I voted for a reset now and 2 years game. The starting years are by far the most interesting, where strategy pays. As for the reset, many players (me included) are already in end-turn mood.
As for Multiworlds, I'm as eager as most to have it. However, if it is hurried into production and not properly debugged, I can see this forum flooded with whining and complaints. Better take whatever time you can spare to do it as right as you feel you should.

I stongly agree with Lusitana here and this is a good thing for multiworlds so it doesnt come out with lots of bugs in it. And i think it would be good to have a 2 year round in which way to see what each of us can acheive. I have stopped adding routes to my airline and my LF was 98% now its 78% cause i havnt logged in cause i thought there was no point due to reset going to occur in a couple of days :(

EDIT: actually after a few seconds of thinking (i know, unheard of from me :lol: ) I have decided that the first option is best. I cannot change my vote, But just take one away from the second option and add it to the first one

I just can't see the benefit of a two year round...yeah, I agree, those are the best years of the game, but to me it'd feel really empty and rather pointless considering the fact that just when you get established, just when your work pays off, boom. Another reset. That's like saying sports should only be played for the first half, because by the second half it's usually all decided. 5 years is perfect, why cut it to two?[/i]

I say do what needs to be done. Early reset so be it. Or extend the game so be it. Whatever works best for those who make the game.

i like a 2 year round becuase it will make the multi world update seem to come faster and it wont screw up a 5-10 year round if you are doing good, i dont like a 2 year add on to this round becuase lots of airlines have already pretty much shut down their airline till next round

I'd like to try a 2 year round! It's kinda short but do not want to extend the current round. I don't like to stick multi worlds in the middle of the round though.

5 or 10 years round!! It is worthless ( in my opinion of course ) to play a round that in real life wouldn't last even a month! I started this round in 1972 and I'm currently at 25M DOP, which finnaly gives me some freedom "to do whatever I want whenever I want" and belive me it's annoying to know I'm going to loose all of of this! I don't want to go through all this , knowing that in barely one month I'll lose it all again!! So I'm going to wait til the next 5-10 years round!
So i voted for "extend this round for another 2 years"! This way I think that everyone would be happy :)

A lot of players are already in the end of round mode or have already stopped because they thought the rund was nearly over, so extending it wouldn't be fair. A short round is the best option, it can be extended if multi worlds isn't ready. There's no point doing a 5/10 year round if it gets interupted by the launch, and besides I feel myself that it's more important that multi worlds is done right, rather than just done quick, so a short round would give Stephen and the guys some flexibility in that regard.

I like the 2 year round idea. Extending this round would really be a bad idea for my airline. I have zero flights and I'm not about to bring them back up.

I say extend the round by two more years. I don't see a point in having a 2 year round since it won't give any airlines outside of CDG/ORD/HKG/MCO/PHX/FRA/ect. a chance to grow effectivly, even if a few of the big airport airlines in the top 20 say they get bored after the 2nd year.

Cant agree more with the post above this one. Is there really such a point into creating a new round? Numerous people have been complaining in the past about the current round which is about to finish being a 5 year round and not a 10. Cant imagine the complains when December year 2 comes around.
I also find it interesting to note that a option for just waiting until multiworlds has been implemented into the game is not included, except if you count the last option. Going from the first post which describes multiworlds just out of grasp for this reset.
Perhaps a week offline would be sufficent enough to introduce it? Otherwise it might be best to begin another 5 year round of sorts.

I can live without AM for three weeks. People have lives you know redhead :P. Although then again there is a chance AM would loose its player base due to it being shut down for 3 weeks.

Shut down? Nicky, you dont understand, it would be a short round. You must know that people are already complaining that the round is too saturated, more people than there are complaining that it is ending too early. :D

People need to remember that the game is saturated because of themselves. If they weren't playing AM and there was only one player (say Stephen) on it. Well there wouldn't be saturation then. I doubt he would be flying around 100 airline in competition with himself for the fun of it.
Like I voted and am sticking to it. Since it seems that multiworlds wont be ready in time for the next reset in 24ish hours, then extend this round. If people complain, tough. What would happen if it was a 10 year round from the start? Saturation this, saturation that.

I would be more inclined to play a 5-year round over a 2-year round. However, both are too short for my liking. If the staff thinks they can REALLY get everything ready (and tested) within 24 days, I would choose 2 years. If they have some doubts, then I would choose 5 years and give them more time to fully shake it out.

Airlines have been playing anticipating the end of the round. Extending the current round would be wrong. Have a short round or run another 5-year while multi-worlds gets tweaked. 8)

I'd go with either of the reset options. 2 years is too short but would let me try out a few things.
Extending will just upset people, rightly I think.

Agreed. I've been doing some asinine things in an attempt to hit #9 in North America by the end of the game. (Should reach #9 right at the finish line.) On the other hand, the other option is to play a three week game which could almost be just as maddening.
Between the two, I think I may lean towards a two year extension so I can catch one particular knob-gobbler. :D

Make it a 2 year round. The first 2 years in a round are the most fun. Besides that, I don't even have an airline anymore. Allready returned my gates and sold my planes, so don't extend this round for another 2 years. :wink:

for me, is just best to wait fot the multiworlds to be stable & get it going by the next reset....but if it takes too long then I'll stick to the 2 game year short game

jk, multiworlds is working and functioning perfectly except for one or two bits and peices
Multiworlds needs some proper testing first, and testing takes time. The system works, but it still has its flaws and they need to be taken out first.

In this case then, if there are, still, huge bugs to fix, I think we could, also, go for a 5 years round and give the staff more time to work patiently.

I'd prefer the 5 year option over the 2 year, since it gives us longer to get going, and you guys less pressured to get multiworld released with fewer bugs. I'd hate to play a 2 year game only to be told that actually, it still isn't quite read yet.

Perhaps invite some more people to be testers to see how it works with more players and to make sure all the bugs are gone.

It looks like, at present, by about a 14% margin a reset is due and will happen. To accomodate the outspoken people who voted for a full 5/10 year round, I think i may make it a 3 year game instead of 2. Personally I set 2 because I think the last code stuff needed to be created/modified, as well as some prelim feedback on the bugs I've seen, shouldn't take too much past 2 weeks to finish [while a 2 year game has 25 days involved]. An extra 12 days wold be a nice insurance policy though, and seemingly enough of you are for a full game that it should help a little all around.
I'm gonna dig out the last thread asking when people wanted the next age to be, and probably go with the majority off that... Looks like the 80s was winning. Exact year in 80s yet undecided, but. yes.

"Significantly bigger/faster/better range" then normally selected for a public game. Odds are, in this case, it will not leave the brokers wondering what to do with so many of the starter plane. -Leaves the rest to mystery till the next age is started up.-
