Has to be the Boeing 757-200. I've only ever had the pleasure once and that was PHL-DUB on US Airways. Perfect plane.  8)

Although nothing beats the A330 for its grace and beauty.

Airbus A330.  Beautiful wings, engines and unparalelled comfort.

It depends.....

Differing planes have differing missions....

I would love to see a 752 or a A330 make a landing on a 1800 ft gravel/dirt runway in Alaska.
Perfect plane there is a Twotter....

From SNA, to ORD or DEN its a 752
Short runway, NIMBY restrictions...Need LOTS of thrust quickly.

The perfect plane is one that fits the profile of that particular mission, without having too many restrictions.  Sometimes there isn't one.

Some people won't be happy but I still stick to the Concorde. Who's really paying attention to fuel economy anyway? Sleek, sexy, fast and there's a picture floating around somewhere with a flock of French Concorde that instantly remind me of swans flying in formation.

Edit:

Edit2: What is a group of planes called? I used flock because it fits too well when talking about Concorde.

Even more Edit:
Oh or the Ekronoplan:D

Ekronoplan!!! So ugly it's gorgeous :D

To fly:
747
md-80-90 love the take off, steep!
IL-76 cargo plane, lousy comfort, amazing take off and landing!

Looks:
747 overall
A380 front, those wings bend very sexy
Sud Est Caravelle
727
Ilyushin IL-62, among the prettiest ever built
A330, slender, sexy, beauty. It's as gorgeus as A340 is ugly (340-600 excluded though)

I agree to to all of them but need to add one: RJ85/100. A tiny plane with four powerful engines and leather seats inside. I used to fly once HAM-BRU and that plane had really to fight for reaching the runway on that bumpy ride. I really enjoyed that short hop.

I personally prefer Airbus over Boeing, but I'll give props to both.

Best Airbus: A340-500/-600 BY FAR.
Runner-up Bus: A320
Best Boeing: B777-300
Runner-up Bus: B767-300

I hate the 737. Sorry :P

On the contrary, I hate the 747 because I find it to be a bleeming cowpacker.  It is a glorified freighter in it's own right, the design originally intended for the USAF, but the Lockheed Galaxy won the contract.

Reims/Cessna 406!
Beech 1900D!
Dash 8-100 is best though :D

These 'tubes' are so boring. Nothing like being in the circuit in Wellington in our 406 doing twice the speed of a Tomahawk doing max-rate turns while holding just for the hell of it! Or Wlg -> Chc at 100ft! Better than a 737 at 30,000ft!

I'm amazed that nobody has mentioned the E-Jets as they look simply stunning.
The Boeing 777 is also a great jet and having flown on one before that would be my favourite to fly on.

I only really like the newer Boeing jets like the 737NG (with winglets of course! ) the 748i, 777 and 787, although I like the A330. IMO the A380 is an ugly flying whale...
The E 170-195 jets are my favourite RJs.

And i have flown in all i listed, except for the 777 and 787, im hoping to either fly the Qantas A380 from LAX to AU next time me and my family go to visit family, or fly SFO to AKL to get to fly the 777 with Air NZ

I'm gonna say 737-8AS... mainly because I love the whole "Low cost" feeling of them.
